Day 2 Gift:

Some of you where asking me how did I get this all done with what we've been going through. I did not do these this year this was part of the gift I gave last Christmas to be open this Christmas, it was part of our Year of Gifts for our families. I shared some but not all so I didn't give the gift away. Thus why it is using the retired Holiday Catalog Product from last year ;) Day 2 was Christmas Fun Foam Kits that I forgot to take pictures of. lol I found these while I was cruising an isle looking for ideas for the little ones.

IMG_4156

However I do have a picture from my cousin of her little guy with his completed project. Once again someone saved my bacon! lol

Gift Packaging

One thing I really like to do is create customer wrapping paper. You can do it if you plan ahead that is the key :) I purchased a roll of Kraft Wrapping Paper from Hobby Lobby. I usually stock up on this around Christmas time because that is when they have there wrapping paper at 50% off. To create my wrapping paper I used the Oh, What Fun Photopolymer Stamp Set item #140386 from the main catalog.

OhWhatFun

Tip~ One thing to note is be sure you are stamping on a hard surface. I was working on one of our tables that I thought would hard enough but as you can tell one of my Happy Christmas didn't ink good enough because the table gave.

Rubber Redneck Quick Shots:

  • Roll out the amount of wrapping paper you need. Ink the stamp from Oh, What Fun Stamp Set in Real Red ink and stamp onto the wrapping paper. Repeat till  you have the entire piece stamped on. You can add more images if you would like I just liked the Merry Christmas on it. That's all it takes!

Tip~ Let your paper dry before wrapping your gift it only takes a few minuets to wait.

IMG_9419

This was the day 2 tag label I created.

  • Zip a piece of This Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper through the Big Shot with the Layering Circles Framelits. These are on sale!!!
  • Cut a piece of Whisper White card stock and zip through the Big Shot with the Banner Framelits. Stamp your 2 onto the top in Garden Green Ink. I used the retired 25 Days Stamp Set and retired Metallics Glitter Tape.
  • Ink the stamp from Stitched with Cheer Stamp Set in Real Red and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White card stock. Zip it through the Big Shot with the Bunch of Banner Framelits die cutting it. Attach all of your pieces together with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Punch a hole at the top with the 1/8 Handheld Punch and tie some Candy Cane Baker's Twine through it. Add a Rhinestone Basic Jewel.
  • Attach to your package and use wrapping ribbon to finish decorating.

Card 2

This was the card we created to go inside the packaging with the gift.

Family Gifts: Christmas Countdown Day 1

Back with the second half of this mornings post. I had to split it up into 2 posts today since it's a lot to share!

Day 1 Gift:

Block Calendars & Kid's Advent Countdown Calendar. The Block Calendars were handmade by us. I got this idea off of pinterest and I think the original maker is Melissa Stout to see her version visit her blog. Last year I shared some of the Stampin' Up! ones I created. I have so much craft stuff that my goal has been to try to use up all my none SU stuff and scraps! This gift worked perfect for that goal!

Calendar Block 1

This was made using the product from the 2016 Holiday Catalog and you can find the details on this blog post HERE. You can still purchase the Holly Berry Builder Punch, Santa's Sleigh, Santa's Sleigh Thinlits, and Large Numbers Framelits.

Calendar Block 2

This used some of my misc DSP Christmas Paper I had left over. I really liked the reindeer cut out in the Silver Glimmer Paper.

IMG_9398

This one was for the kido's. I stumbled across this Santa on-line on pinterest and as soon as I saw it I wanted to do this.

If you would like to make your own just click on the picture below and save to your computer and print it off.

Santa-faceAdventCalendar

I of course really wanted my projects to include my biggest passion which is of course my stamping :) so I created this adorable bags to slip the Santa's into.

Gift Bag 1

IMG_9389

Details on how to make these bags by recycling paper bags can be found HERE.

IMG_9414

To package the Santa Countdown all up I used tissue paper to create a bag and decorated.

1 Card

IMG_9385

We made cards to put in each gift too.

IMG_9423

This was the tag we created for the outside of the package.

That is all what was created for day 1! Lots of fun stuff and we had a blast making Day 1 Gifts.

Family Gifts: Christmas Countdown Begins

Morning my stamping peeps,

Back today with those family gifts we created last year for our family to open all year!! For December we did a 25 Days of Christmas countdown for 4 families....which resulted in 100 countdown presents for December!!! This is what 25 Days of Christmas countdown looks like for 1 family. Some of you have seen some of this already; I wanted to share all this in order for the new comers ;) I had intended to share each day on the day this year but not everyone could open gifts on the days right away due to work schedules and life. If you want to see everything at once I will be posting to a special board I created on pinterest just for the Family 25 Days Christmas Countdown.

IMG_0616

THUD right? I love doing the countdowns in December and normally I just do 12 days and yes in the future I will stick to that! lol For the most part the basic idea was the same however each family was a little different as some have kids, some do not, some have allergies and etc. One thing to note the projects that I will be sharing used last years products from the Stampin' Up! 2016 Holiday Catalog and Stampin' Up! 2016 Main Catalog so some of the product has retired since I created these gifts. You can easily change out the ideas and use the new Holiday products or you'll get lots of ideas using last years product that your hoarding ;)

25 Day Letter

This was the letter we included in the 25 Day's Christmas Countdown. I kept it very simple I printed out what we wanted to say. At the top I created the title and changed it to print in color so it would be more festive. At the top I added a piece of This Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper (retired) and then I stamped the trees from Stitched With Cheer Photopolymer Stamp Set (retired) in Old Olive ink. Doesn't need to be fancy and feel free to copy the wording too!

Somethings I learned from this project that will be helpful for you ;)

1. Shop an year in advance otherwise to do all of this in December is very STRESSFUL!! lol

2. Be ORGANIZED especially if doing this large of scale!! We were and we weren't towards the middle of this project pretty much chaos happened and their were piles of stuff everywhere with no rhyme or reason. Thank goodness I wasn't hosting Christmas.

3. Make a basic list of what you want to do for the xx amount of days. You can get lots of ideas from pinterest too! Just search christmas countdown. I only had a few days figured out what I wanted to do but over all we didn't do that; we just went to the stores and wandered around trying to figure out what we wanted to do and in December no less when it's a zoo! That part I didn't enjoy trying to figure out what to do as I am a organized person and always have a plan. We also tried to make some gifts to help save on the overall cost.

4. Try to make your projects ahead of December if doing this large of scale. We actually didn't get everything done in time and had 1 am nights (which is very bad for me to do with my RA, I paid the price Christmas Day was spent sick and sleeping, I didn't get do our family Christmas so Merry Christmas to me! lol). We also ran into some major snags where we had to create something entirely different when that's not so great to do in December when the clock is ticking. lol

5. Think about Christmas packaging. For example I knew I would be making all my tags but if your doing a countdown you want numbers so if you don't have numbers that is something to think about. We got lucky when we stopped at Hobby Lobby all Christmas packaging was 50% off but we still spent $200 on just that. My advice if you want to do this go after Christmas and get what you can on clearance! lol

6. Things you will need a LOT of; scotch tape, boxes and several pairs of scissors (we kept misplacing our 1 pair). I used a lot of those white shirt boxes. We kept buying this stuff thinking we had enough but nope hubby had to literally go to walmart every day here. It became a running joke for us. lol

7. Mass production lines work way better too! At first I was doing one family at a time so presents wouldn't get mixed up and if anyone stopped by I didn't want them to see the gifts!! lol We finally got smart and purchased some 6' folding tables set them up in a room where we could shut the door and laid stuff out, created till a table was full then stopped and wrapped and put into labeled totes.

8. If you don't get done in time; oh well! lol The gift recipients will still be excited by the idea!

9. We became expert gift wrappers so if we ever need a job to fall back on. hahaha

Hopefully our families have loved this christmas magic gift we created for them! We still had a lot of fun even if it ended up being stressful. Having a good sense of humor helps too so if you don't then DO NOT do this project! lol Hubby and I ended up creating some pretty good memories and it's something for us to look back on and laugh about.

Rubber Redneck Box of Sunshine

Today's share is my box of sunshine. This is another gift we created for our family members and is part of the "Year Gift" we made. If you would like to see more info about this awesome project we created and what I've shared so far click on the little tag on the left side of my blog labeled Year of Gifts or visit HERE. I still plan on sharing everything I made some items used to create these gifts maybe retired. Ironic part when we created this little did we know hubby's grandpa would have a stroke so it was a much needed gift that week to cheer everyone up. For dh and I we were happy that it helped; that was gift enough for us!

Sunshine Sayings

This card I shared for the Stamp Review Crew Hop awhile ago but this was only part of the gift. :)

Rubber Redneck Quick Shots:

  • Create your card base from the Whisper White Thick card stock.
  • Zip a piece of Crushed Curry card stock through the Big Shot with the Sunburst Thinlit Die.
  • Ink the stamp from Sunburst Sayings Stamp Set (unfortunately this stamp set retired before I shared this project) however their is an image in the Inspired Events Stamp Set that you could used to make the dots, or use the Crushed Curry Marker and ruler to make your own dots.
  • Zip a piece of vellum through the Big Shot with the Stiched Shapes Framelits.
  • Ink the stamp from Sunshine Sayings Stamp Set in Versa Mark then Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and stamp onto the Vellum Circle. Pour Clear Embossing Powder over the image and heat set with the heat too.
  • Die cut out a piece of Basic Black card stock by zipping it through the Big Shot with the Sunshine Wishes Thinlit.
  • Finish off the card by added Silver Metallic Thread and Metallic Sequins.

Sunshine Sayings 2

I didn't decorate every package but some of them I did and this was the outside of the box. I used shirt boxes and those worked slick! It happened to be a dreary day when I was creating these so it sure made the day better!

To decorate:

  • I cut some gift packing ribbon and curled with scissors.
  • Die cut out a piece of Crushed Curry card stock using the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits.
  • I die cut out sunshine again in Basic Black card stock using the Big Shot and Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.
  • Finished with a Rhinestone.

Box of Sunshine

When I got the year gift idea I knew I wanted to do a box of sunshine in it. I've done these in the past and they have been so much fun to create! Of course each family got some of the same gifts but also different gifts to suit that family likes. Some of the items were just by chance too. Hubby and I both busted out laughing when we found the google eye key change. The little coin purse and hand santizer was a happy accident. I was in the check out lane at one store and glanced over and there they where. lol

I added my stamping touch to it by die cutting out a piece of Crushed Curry card stock with the Sunburst Thinlit Die. Then stamping on it with the Sunburst Sayings Stamp Set. So much fun!!

Did you miss out on this die when it retired this past may? I have good news friends!! Right now the Sunburst Thinlit Die is in the clearance rack at a huge discount!! Awesome Sauce!! Get it before it's gone!! Clearance rack is only while supplies last!

Nailed It banner

Welcome to another The Stamp Review Crew Hop!! We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who will be bringing you lots of ideas for one particular stamp set twice a month!! The 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, you can hop along from one blog to the next gathering all kinds of inspiration for one Stampin' Up! stamp set. Please note the blog doesn't officially start until Monday May 1 , 2017 so some of the links may not work.

If you are following the hop in order you just arrived from Jessica's BLOG where she showed you all something fabulous! We are featuring the Nailed It Stamp Set (W) item #143074 (C) item #143077 from the Occasions Stampin' Up! Catalog. Now, we choose the sets we are going to use for these hops up to 4 months in advance, so May is always a tough month for us. What we plan to use sometimes is retired before we can feature it, like the Build It dies that coordinate with this set. We decided to go forward with this set because the stamps are still available through May 22, 2017 at least (in the US and Canada only). And to provide ideas for those who already own the stamps and the dies. Enjoy!

Nailed It Card #1

To be ahead of the game this year I made a batch of Father's Day cards which now I am soo glad I did with all that has been going on with us! lol I just want to say thank you all for your prayers our family really appreciates it! I absolutely loved this bundle and it so fit us too!!

Rubber Redneck Quick Shots:

  • Ink the nails in Delightful Dijon and stamp onto a piece of Delightful Dijon card stock. Remember this is one of the incolors retiring this year!
  • I add 3 different layers of Urban Underground Specialty Designer Series Paper.
  • I inked the greeting in Basic Gray and stamped onto Very Vanilla card stock. Then zipped it through the Big Shot with the Build It Framelits Dies to die cut it out. Placed onto the layer.
  • Next I added the Urban Underground Embellishments; one on each side of the greeting to finish it.

Nailed It Card #2

Next I made a stepped up version of the first one :) I made it exactly as the same as the first one with the exception of instead of stamping on the Delightful Dijon card stock I zipped it through the Big Shot with the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Pretty cool right?

Supplies Used
Stamp: Nailed It
Ink: Delightful Dijon, Basic Gray
Paper: Basic Gray, Very Vanilla, Delightful Dijon, Urban Underground Specialty Designer Series Paper
Acc.: Big Shot, Build It Framelits, Hexagons Dynamic Embossing Folder, Urban Underground Embellishments

April Month

This is another gift we created for our family members and is part of the "Year Gift" we made! If you would like to see more info about this awesome project we created and what I've shared so far click on the little tag on the left side of my blog labeled Year of Gifts or visit HERE. I am kinda sharing out of order. lol At the beginning of each month; each family has a box to open on the first of the month besides the random days we picked out of each month.  In this month box is a fact sheet we put together about the month it includes the following: the history of the month's name, historical things that happened for the month on select dates, and what the month is know for. (It's pretty cool as I am a huge history buff so I love these sheets we created!) Each month is know for a lot of things so we just picked a few things that we thought would be fun to learn about. April is National Poetry Month, Lawn & Garden Month, and Read a Road Map.

What we did:

National Poetry: We found a cute rhyming poem for the kids to learn so we printed that off.
Read a Road Map: So this was our funny we literally couldn't find road maps in our town, seriously not kidding. We both were floored over this. I suppose with Iphones who needs a road map (roll my eyes). Ironically I live in a rural area and iphones don't always work. So off to google I went and after hours of searching I found a cute learning map to print off.
Lawn & Garden Month: Kit's were different for everyone. Each kit contained seeds to plant and foam sticker flowers.

IMG_0347

One kit had cute little garden pouch that was pink with tools perfect for our niece. For the little guy we did a little people tractor toy. I personally am a big fan of the little people toys they are so cute and perfect for the small ones.

Lawn and Garden Kit

The older kids got these cute grow capsules that were bugs. Remember the grow capsules you put in a glass a water? These are one of my favorite childhood memories with my one great aunt.

IMG_0355

Lastly each kit had a fun tag I created. I printed Lawn & Garden Kit off onto Whisper White card stock and cut them into strips. Then took the stamp from Crazy About You Stamp Set (available in wood, clear or photopolymer) (W) item #138856 (C) item #138859 (P) item #137137. I inked the flower in Flirty Flamingo and stamped onto the Whisper White card stock. To finish I add a Metallic Enamel Shape to the center of the flower. I had a lot of fun putting this month box together.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Crazy About You
Ink: Flirty Flamingo
Paper: Whisper White
Acc.: Metallic Enamel Shapes

Family Gifts; Rainbow to Go + Promotion

Rainbowtogo

This is another gift we created for our family members and is part of the "Year Gift" we made! If you would like to see more info about this awesome project we created and what I've shared so far click on the little tag on the left side of my blog labeled Year of Gifts or visit HERE. This was the Rainbow To Go Kit which was a random day for them to open in March. I love rainbows they are beautiful and I've always wanted to make one of these kits up! I used the Over the Rainbow Photopolymer Stamp Set item #138770 to create this fun kit!

Over the Rainbow

IMG_0219

First up is the card and rainbow seeds I created ;) Love this card and hope everyone liked it too! Here is the breakdown of it.

IMG_0223

Rubber Redneck Quick Shots:

  • Cut Whisper White Thick card stock for the base. Then cut Basic Black and Whisper card stock for the layers.
  • Create a rainbow using the Over the Rainbow Photopolymer Stamp Set using the following ink colors; Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, and Elegant Eggplant. Be sure to clean your stamp when using each color. Let it dry good before doing the next step.
  • Take the stamp from Over the Rainbow Stamp Set; ink it in VersaMark Ink Pad then in the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp onto the rainbow and pour Clear Embossing Powder over the image. Tap off the excess and heat set with the Heat Tool. Glue the Whisper White card stock to the Basic Black card stock.
  • Wrap some Old Olive Baker's Twine around the layers then attach the layers to the card base.
  • Finish with some Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

IMG_0217

How about those Rainbow Seeds ;) Supper inexpensive idea to do too!

Rubber Redneck Quick Shots:

  • Create a belly band out of Old Olive card stock. I just wrapped the Old Olive card stock around the box and pinched around the edges as I went.
  • Zip a piece of Whisper White card stock through the Big Shot with the Stitched Shapes Framelits die cutting it out.
  • Ink the stamp from Over the Rainbow Stamp Set in Elegant Eggplant and Melon Mambo. Stamp onto the Whisper White tag.
  • Using the Labeler Alphabet Stamp Set spell out Seeds and ink it in Pumpkin Pie and stamp onto the Whisper White tag.
  • To finish add a Brights Enamel Shape.

Again everyone's kits were different to suit each family.

IMG_0225

Some got the rainbow seeds, instant tea, and rub-ix cubes. I got the rub-ix cubes at the party store.

IMG_0227

Some got fruit snacks, and jello in their rainbow to go kits. You'll notice in the picture I also stamped a rainbow on the envelope but forgot to take the picture of it. lol

IMG_0233

Some got apple sauce instead of jello. Those with kids also got coloring kits that included crayons, paints and etc. The rainbow plastic bags I happen to come across them at the Party Store.

IMG_0238

Then they were all packaged up into fun bags with tags I created and present ribbon. It's so easy to create a rainbow to go and as you can see you can easily create healthy rainbow kits to go too. Just be sure to check the expiration dates on the food. A lot of the food was purchased towards the middle of December to be safe.

Suite Sentiments Card

Happy Tuesday Peeps!

I am back up and running! When I posted on the 28th I thought the Typepad issue was figured out...it was apparently NOT. Short version Typepad was basically out in MN only something about security issue with one of their providers. I for one am very glad the problem is fixed!

It continues to be wild here for us. Boy oh Boy what a wild ride this year has been so far! Wedding invites done and out the door, 1st birthday party, bridal shower party stuff done! Another batch of successful parties were pulled off (some how). Kitchen cabinets for my parents ordered! Of course while this is all going on my cousin decided it was time to work on my parent's bathroom.... What a mess and nightmare they had more water damage then originally thought so new bathroom and new entry way will be happening. I crumba and if that wasn't enough my dad fell and got hurt very bad he tore a tendon in his shoulder and tore his rotator cuff. Ughh and yes he will be having surgery we don't know when yet but just in time for calving season. haha April I don't plan on sleeping at all. Haha Life is never dull for sure! I sure hope the rest of you have not had crazy stuff going on like us!

Suite Sentiments Card

Did you know February 21 is National Card Reading Day? SWEET perfect for us card makers a holiday for us :) This card was doing double duty for February. I made this for the Year of Gifts or visit HERE to see all that I have shared so far. I also used it for Sudsol Challenge #156. It uses the stamp set from the Occasions Catalog called Suite Sentiments (W) item #142968 (C) item #142971 and that FABUOLOUSE Carried Away Designer Series Paper item #143608 from the Sale A Bration!

Suite Sentiments

This is a fabulous greeting set! The fonts? Astounding. The statements? Endearing. The stamp set? Breathtaking. It is a must have!

Rubber Redneck Quick Shots:

  • Create a base out of Whisper White Thick Card Stock. I use the thicker card stock when it's the base for a card stock since it is heaver.
  • Cut a piece of Smoky Slate card stock. Cut the Carried Away Designer Series Paper into little squares using 4 different patterns. Glue to the Smoky Slate card stock. Reminds me of a quilt.
  • Ink the stamp from Suite Sentiments Stamp Set in Night of Navy and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White card stock. Zip it through the Big Shot with the Stitched Shapes Framelits. I placed it in the center with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Randomly place some Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

The inside I kept it simple I added little strips of Carried Away Designer Series Paper across the bottom and right side.

Family Gifts; Family Jar

Happy Saturday Peeps!

Yes we are alive and well I've just been incredible busy and have not had time to create or post to my blog. I am in the process of several major events here that I am making decorations for, lots of regular work, work and work, tax time, plus lots of different things going on. There is not enough hours in the day! We did have my mom's retirement party it was a success and I will be sharing photos in a couple of weeks here. I am sorry I worried some of you but we are okay and I will not be posting regular till I get stuff done and caught up.

Customer Updates:

I did mail out the catalogs weeks ago so if you didn't receive one please let me know and I will check my list. Everyone who placed orders in Dec and Jan all of your thank you goodies were mailed out too!

Family Jar

This is another gift we created for our family members and is part of the "Year Gift" we made! If you would like to see more info about this awesome project we created and what I've shared so far click on the little tag on the left side of my blog labeled Year of Gifts or visit HERE. It is a family jar. I saw this idea last year on pinterest and thought how cool I gotta make this! The idea is all year long record the awesome things that happened and then on new year's eve read through everything. How cool right? Another demo/friend did this with her family and it's become a family tradition for them. This uses the Layering Love Stamp Set (W) item #141962 (C) item #141965 which I thought was fitting for this idea!

Theses were such a blast to make! We made a total of 4 of them. I should have made one for us but didn't even think about it. lol Super easy to create too!

Supplies Needed to create Family Jar
Stamp: Layering Love
Ink: Early Espresso
Paper: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Copy Paper
Acc.: 1 3/8 Circle Punch, Very Vanilla 1/2 Lace Trim, Gold Binder Clips, Pearls, Jar, Paint, Silhouette

Rubber Redneck Quick Shots:

  • Paint the jar lid in your color choice and let dry for several days.
  • Using the Silhouette cut out the vinyl in black and attach to the front of the jar. Sorry I forgot to measure the jar. lol I got them at Target in the $1 spot last spring.
  • Create a pouch to hold slips of copy paper out of the Early Espresso card stock. They don't need to be that big but I really wanted the saying on the pocket. Punch one end of the Early Espresso card stock using the 1 3/8 Circle Punch. This will make it easier to grab the slips of paper.
  • Ink the stamp from Layering Love Stamp Set in Early Espresso and stamp onto the Very Vanilla card stock. Glue to the front of the pocket and added some Pearl Basic Jewels to finish it.
  • At the top I clipped a Gold Binder Clip to the pocket then thread some Very Vanilla 1/2 Lace Trim through the binder clip and tied it around the top of the jar.
  • Then I typed up a note to add with the jar to let each family know how the jar works.

Here is all four of them. Again I either did people's favorite colors or the color that would best in there home since I didn't know who would actually leave them sitting out. Pretty awesome I think!
