We are featuring a new background stamp called Buffalo Check Background Stamp (W) item #147797 or (C) item #147794 from the 2018 Holiday Stampin' Up! Catalog on page 38!

Buffalo Check Background Stamp

I was thrilled to see this in our Holiday catalog this year! I am a huge fan of this pattern for crafting and decorating. I love the rustic and homey feel of this pattern. I have so many ideas for this stamp but alas I only had time to create one. Good thing your all hoping with us; you will get lots of awesome ideas from this hop. Everyone always creates something stunning.

RR Buffalo Check Hop

Since this was a background stamp we could pair it with any other set. I got tell ya it was hard for me to choose what to pair it with. lol I decided to pull out a set I haven't had a chance to use much. I paired this fabulous background stamp with another one of my favorites it is called Half Full.

Half Full Stamp Set

The Half Full Stamp Set (W) item #144996 (C) item #144999 came out in last years Holiday Catalog and I was pinging off the walls over it as I love WINE and my kitchen and dinning room are decorated in a wine theme. Plus my all my good friends love wine too so it's been awesome for creating gifts with it. Then Stampin' Up! carried it over to the Main Catalog this year (they are so good to me lol)!

My Ink Friends Design Challenge 10

My Inky Friends is back with another new challenge for you! My Inky Friends has a new challenge each month that are inspired by the inspiration in the Stampin' Up! Catalogs! This month's My Inky Friends Challenge #10 is a color combo for you! For our 10th challenge, we have a bold and bright color combination from page 115 of the Annual Stampin' Up! Catalog.

The challenge runs Sept. 28- Oct. 12, 2018. Play along and upload your link on My Inky Friends. Please note my blog post is early today so the link might not work till a little later in the day.

MIF#10

Here is my creation I created to play along with this challenge. I used the Picked For You Photopolymer Stamp Set item #148298 from our Annual Stampin' Up! Catalog to create today's project. This color combo screamed school to me ;)

Picked For You Stamp Set

I was thrilled to see this new stamp set in our catalog I have friends and family who are teachers so now I finally have something perfect for them! This is a photopolymer stamp set that is a 2 step stamping set and with the photopolymer stamps it makes it so easy to line up the images to get your finally image. It comes with a total of 10 stamps and various sayings making it work through out the year and not just teacher focused.

Picked For You

Rubber Redneck Quick Shots:

  • Create a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Whisper White thick card stock card base using the Stampin' Trimmer and the Simply Scored Scoring Tool.
  • Cut a piece of Poppy Parade card stock 4" x 5 1/4". Take the stamp from Picked For You Stamp Set. Ink it in Poppy Parade Ink and stamp onto the piece of Poppy Parade card stock repeat until you have the desired look.
  • Cut a piece of Granny Apple Green card stock. Ink the apples from Picked For You Stamp Set in Granny Apple Green Ink and stamp onto the Granny Apple Green card stock. Repeat until you have the desired effect. Adhere to the right side of the Poppy Parade card stock.
  • Cut a piece of So Saffron card stock. Zip it through the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine with the Sparkle Embossing Folder. Adhere across the Poppy Parade card stock.
  • Cut a piece of Tropical Escape 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper and adhere across the So Saffron card stock.
  • For the ribbons I used our 1/4 Poppy Parade Mini Stripped and 5/8 Burlap Ribbons. Love these two ribbons! Once I attached them with Glue Dots I then adhered the layers of card stock to the Whisper White thick card stock base.

Picked For You Close Up

  • I inked one of the greetings from Picked For You Stamp Set in Granny Apple Green and stamped onto a piece of Whisper White card stock.
  • Using the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine and the Stitched Shapes Framelits to die cut out Poppy Parade and the stamped piece of Whisper White card stock. I cut a strip of So Saffron card stock and then attached all the pieces together with Stampin' Dimensionals and adhered to the card front.
  • I added a True Gentleman Button with some Linen Thread tied through it.

Picked For You Inside

I had a hard time getting a good picture of the inside so I apologize that it is not great I think it was just getting to dark it's been raining, raining and raining here.

  • I cut a piece of Poppy Parade card stock and stamped on the card stock like I did for the front.
  • A piece of So Saffron card stock was adhered to the Poppy Parade card stock.
  • Across the center I added a piece of Tropical Escape 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper. Dressing up the inside of the card perfectly!

Fiesta Retirement Party Decorations

Retirement Fiesta

My mom retired last year in February so we threw here a party! I made the invite which I shared HERE with you all and I am sharing today the rest of the decorations that I created for my mom's party. I also have listed some of the decorations in my Etsy Shop. I do party invites along with decorations for any occasion all the time. If you need invites, decorations and etc lets talk email me I love making items for your special occasion!

I did a fiesta theme and I used the retired Bundle Birthday Fiesta Photopolymer Stamp Set & Fiesta Time Framelites. The stamp set is retired now however you can purchase the Fiesta Time Framelits from the clearance rack from Stampin' Up!.

Fieasta Time

These framelits work great for party decorations without the stamp set!

IMG_0938

I made retirement advice cards for the guests to fill out. First I designed the wording to print out on Whisper White card stock. Then cut them down and at the top stamped the flower. I rotated the colors Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo. Then I adhered the Whisper White card stock to Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo card stock alternating them with the stamped color on the Whisper White card stock. The perfect fiesta colors!

IMG_6684

I designed a Fiesta Retirement Advice sign in Photoshop for the retirement advice cards. Then printed it out onto Whisper White card stock and slid it into a sign holder. I have a digital version of this listed in my Etsy Shop too.

IMG_0959

Here is how the set up looked like. I found the wood box at hobby lobby.

Next was the table decorations:

I went to the Party Store and Hobby Lobby and found table runner in the colors I needed; picked up silverware, cups, tulle, colored glass rocks and paper doilies to match the fiesta colors.

SIGNS

I found these signs a long time ago and finally used them for something. lol

IMG_0799

I painted the wood on this one with pink. Using my Silhouette I cut out the wording and added it to the board. At the top I diecut out card stock that I had stamped on using the Birthday Fiesta Photopolymer Stamp Set & Fiesta Time Framelites and the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine. I used Pumpkin Pie and Tempting Turquoise for my colors.

IMG_7057

These I created for the beverage table and we did Taco in a bag for the food. The Beverage sign I painted in orange. Using the Silhouette I cut out the words and cactus and adhered them to the board. With the Fiesta Time Framelites and the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine I die cut out Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise card stock and adhered them to the boards. The Taco In Bag Sign I painted Turquoise. Using the Silhouette I cut out the words and cactus and adhered them to the board. These were so fun to create!

IMG_6679

I made some Tassel Garland to go on the front of the tables. I love making these they are always so fun to look at when they are completed.

IMG_0990

For the guest tables I made these succulent and cactus table decorations. I found some large paper doilies in the fiesta colors I picked and placed each one onto the doily and then put them on the tables with some colored glass rocks and tulle.

IMG_7023

Then for my last decoration I made to vases of faux flowers. I love making flower arrangements and these sure were great for winter in MN. lol

Pinterest did get me into trouble because I found some frosting decorations that I wanted to do. lol I wanted to make cakes and cupcakes to look like cactus with frosting. Of course I have never done frosting on this level before I am the gal open the frosting container and smear it on with a knife. lol My Aunt thank goodness came and helped me she is amazing at decorating cakes and etc.

Cupcakes

The cupcakes turned out so cute I thought.

Cakes

My Aunt did a great job with the cake!

Here are some of pictures of the set up. Pictures didn't turn out my camera guy was in a hurry to get to the food ;) he didn't want to miss out on the cupcakes since I wouldn't let him have one the day before. lol

Family Gift: September Box

Hey Peeps!

Quick family update a lot of you have been asking if we are alive and ok. Yes we are after last year I am just plain exhausted physically because of my RA disease and we both just got run down. So we took the summer off to just recoup and sleep a lot in between all the busyness besides. lol My dad is doing good he had a check-up and he is on track except for he is in a lot of pain still but otherwise he got a good report and now it's just adjusting to not using his arm like a normal. He still can't lift a gallon of milk and is on weight restrictions.

But I am back now working full time on everything! Next few weeks I'll be playing catch up on my blogging. I'll be posting my upcoming online fall classes, customer promotions, finish sharing the year gifts I created, sharing my December Daily (I am going to get that done if it kills me! lol) and much, much more! Grab your favorite beverage and enjoy!

Family Gift Monthly Box Sept

This is another gift we created for our family members and is part of the "Year Gift" we made. If you would like to see more info about this awesome project we created and what I've shared so far click on the little tag on the left side of my blog labeled Year of Gifts or visit HERE or visit my pinterest board  Rubber Redneck Year Gifts to see them all in one spot.

At the beginning of each month; each family had a box to open on the first of the month besides the random days we picked out of each month.  In this month box is a fact sheet we put together about the month it includes the following: the history of the month's name, historical things that happened for the month on select dates, and what the month is know for. (It's pretty cool as I am a huge history buff so I love these sheets we created!) Each month is also know for a lot of things so we just picked a few things that we thought would be fun to learn about. September Box features the following; Chicken Month, National Honey Month, and Fall Begins.

What we did:

National Honey Month

National Honey Month: For this right way I know I would do a bottle of honey and decorate it with a tag somehow and this is what I came up with. I printed out National Honey Month onto Whisper White card stock then zipped the card stock through the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine with the retired Tags & Labels Framelits. I took the bee stamp from Dragonfly Dreams Photopolymer Stamp Set item#142924 and stamped the bee above the words using the Memento Black Tuxedo Black Ink Pad and Crushed Curry Ink Pad. I used Solid Basic Black Backer's Twine to attach the tag to the bottle of honey.

Dragonfly Dreams

This set worked great for National Honey Month! It is called Dragonfly Dreams and it is a Photpolymer Stamp Set.

Fall Bucket List 2

For Fall Begins: I created a bucket list of things to do for the month of September. I printed it out onto White card stock and stamped leaves all around the edges in fall colors using the retired Vintage Leaves Stamp Set. I found a cute dish towel and pot holder for everyone. I've added the Fall Bucket Printout below for you!

Here is the PDF Tag I created if you would like to make one. Print it out onto card stock.

Download Fall Bucket List

National Chicken Month

National Chicken Month: Yep this was one of those things I thought was interesting who knew Chickens have a national month. lol My plan was type up a recipe that used a can of cream of chicken soup.

IMG_9965

The recipe I included came from the back of the Parmesan Cheese container. Then while looking for something on Amazon low and behold was something called rubber chicken sling shots you put them on your finger and pull back and shoot them like a rubber-band, we thought they were hilarious so we added them to the gift..the older kids loved them. I made the chicken punch art using my retired owl builder punch, 1/4 Circle Punch, and 1/8 Handheld Punch in Whisper White, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, and Real Red card stock. This was a real fun gift to put together.

Have questions or comments please feel free to email me or leave a comment on my blog. I love hearing from my readers!
