Cover Page SAB

This is the cover page for our Daily Memories Album for 2018! Our theme this year is to celebrate me turning 40, so it's focused on 40 (this years theme was all my hubbies idea too). Every year we do a Daily Memories Album....I still am in the middle of 2015 though as far as actually getting the stuff into an albums. I know very bad of us! LOL But we do all year document and take pictures so at least we got that part done. So hubby and I came up with a 40 Bucket List for us to do this year....do you know how hard it is to come up with 40 things that you can actually do/afford too? That was an adventure in it's self! LOL

I used the Sweet Soiree Memories & More card pack, Epic Celebrations Stamp Stamp Set, Celebrate You Thinlits Dies and Dare to Dream Hostess Set to create my layout. I also did some embossing on the cards here and their. I think it is the best cover page I have ever created yet! It uses my two favorite colors green and dark berry purple.

I will have more details about this project on Friday so you'll want to be sure to stop back to find out how I created the project and hear about the humor side of it!

Now you'll want to head on over to Charlet's BLOG where I know you will love her project!!

Family Gifts: Christmas Countdown Day 25 + GIVEAWAY

Back with the last Christmas Countdown Gift Day 25. If you would like to see all the Christmas countdown gifts check out my Family 25 Days Christmas Countdown Board on pinterest, follow me on pinterest so you don't miss out on anything!

Day 25 Family Frame

#25 Family Plaques

Our last gift for the Christmas Countdown was a Family Plaque we created for each Family. We used the first letter of everyone's last name and the silhouette to add the family onto the glass. Each frame and letter was painted in the colors that they told me where either their favorite or to match their homes. We had a hard time getting a good picture of the P and M frames.

IMG_0574

This was the card we created to  put with the gift. I printed our message on the Whisper White card stock then decorated it using the retired 25 Days and Greetings from Santa Stamp Set. I used some washi tape I had in my stash.

That's the end of the 25 Days of Christmas Countdown! Thank you for following along and I hope it gave you some great ideas. :)

Supplies Used
Stamps: 25 Days, Greetings from Santa
Ink: Crushed Curry, Real Red

Day 24 Christmas Eve Box

Christmas Eve Box

How about an AMAZING christmas eve box!! I saw this idea on Pinterest and really wanted to do it! I want one of these!! lol Each family received a Christmas Eve Box of goodies. The above pictures is pictures of the 4 Gifts boxes as we did each layer in the box. The boxes over all had the same items with the exception of a few items due to the kids ages, allergies, food was different for those that don't do candy and etc. Then box for the family with the new born I found a really cute santa outfit to put in it. (Crossed my fingers it would fit too when it came time to open this gift). lol We also only did stockings for the kids I found some cute one's at Hobby Lobby. The two siblings that had no kids we did a few different gifts in their boxes to suit them more.

Chrismas Eve Box Goodies

Here are some of the main items in each box.

  • Santa Plate: Created by us with the Silhouette. We had quite the time creating them. The plates we bought the stupid stuff started chipping off so we had to scramble to find 5 red plates of course Dec. 11 good luck with that around here. Snort Took 3 days to make them because the plates started chipping, and we kept running out of stuff. lol Some of the gifts we wrote messages on the back. Yep the plates we put it on upside down but didn't realize it till we were done with all 4. ROFL My advice do them at least a month ahead. lol
  • Milk Bottles: We were going to make them but couldn't find enough bottles. While shopping for last minute stuff walmart of all places had the milk for santa. ROFL
  • Picture Frame Came from Hobby Lobby I did splurge on them I thought they were cool.
  • Nail Polish: Saw this idea on pinterest tag says for your mistletoes.
  • Christmas Puzzles: Dollar store.
  • Santa Notebooks: Dollar store.
  • Christmas Books: Target $1 Spot
  • Random Filler Stuff (anything christmas like): Christmas Pencils, Toys, Christmas Cups, Cozzies, Mugs, Erasers Target, Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Craft Store were great finds for this stuff usually they have an isle around christmas time.
  • Games/Cards: Target $1 Spot
  • Printables I found on Pinterest and printed them out. Do a search and there are thousands of them for free!

Day 21 Elf Day

#21 Elf Day

This was one of my favorite days! Not only was it a blast to put together but I love elves. lol The elf shoes were made using the silhouette. We cut them out in Lucky Limeade and Real Red card stock. On the ends some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter Paper, Bells and Ribbon. Since these where made for the coming year at the time I couldn't put food in them instead we did mini flash lights. Elf Hat, Elf Activity Mat found on-line, of course ELF movie and a trivia printable for it. Then we made the sign using the Silhouette to cut out vinyl. Which I  think is the coolest thing EVER! lol Then I made little elf hats using the Joly Hat Punch and stuck them on red clothes pins I found at the craft store. Super Adorbe's right?

Of course there HAD to be a day with a tree and since we couldn't do the real deal we made one with a twist. lol I've seen little trees stuck in the wooden spool and I've been wanting to make one for years finally did. Haha I wrapped the wooden spool in some retired Stampin' Up! DSP. We found little trees and hot glued them into the wooden spool. Then printed off O Christmas Tree to go with it.

Day 17 Game Day/Farkle

#17 Game Day Farkle

How about a handmade game of Farkle? This idea was born in Target in the game isle. lol I saw the game Farkle in round container and thought hmmm. To create this you will need a Silhouette and green vinyl. I did green vinyl to stick with the christmas theme. Some sort of tin. I got these years ago some place and finally used them! Ha White small note pad and green pen came from Amazon. The dice I found at the dollar store. Directions typed up and then laminated them. Here is some close ups.

17 Tag

Day 17 Christmas Tag I used the Big Shot and retired Merry Tags Framelits to die cut out the Real Red card stock and retired Warmth and Cheer Designer Series Paper. I used the retired 25 Days stamp set to ink 17 in Real Red ink onto Whisper White card stock. I punched out the number using the 3/4 Circle Punch.

IMG_0457

Card that went into the gift I used Pool Party and Whisper White card stock. The DSP was something left over in my stash. Then I added the 17 to it the same way as the tag above. We also picked up penguin theme gifts so we put the farkle game in with it. The gifts varied from family due to the kids ages. Some of the gifts came from a craft store, dollar store, target, target $1 spot. We had a new born basically so that was really hard to do stuff for him but I stumbled upon a really cute outfit with a penguin on it. Couldn't believe I just randomly found that by chance. lol

Day 18 Gingerbread House

#18 Gingerbread House

Wouldn't be christmas without the gingerbread house! If you wait till towards the end of December you can actually get these so they are good through the following December. Just a FYI since we did the gift a year ahead. I didn't think anyone would actually eat them but wanted to be safe just in case. lol You can still purchase the Cookie Cutter Stamp Set and Cookie Cutter Punch!!!

Rubber Redneck Quick Shots:

  • I decorated the gingerbread box with some misc gingerbread dsp I had in my stash. Then I used the stamp from Cookie Cutter Stamp Set; inked in Early Espresso and stamped onto Whisper White card stock. I punched it out using the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.
  • I colored some Rhinestone Basic Jewels with a Real Red Sharpie marker and added them to the gingerbread man.
  • The gift tag I used scraps from my stash of DSP and used the number stamp from retired 25 Days Stamp Set. Inked in Old Olive and stamped onto Whisper White card stock. Then cut it out and attached with a dimensional. The top of the tag I punched a hole and tied some ribbon through it from my stash.
  • The card I printed the saying onto Whisper White card stock, then decorated with the Candy Cane Lane DSP. Then stamped 18 again in Old Olive.

Supplies Used
Stamps: Cookie Cutter Christmas, 25 Days
Ink: Old Olive, Early Espresso
Paper: Whisper White, Candy Cane Lane DSP
Acc.: Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, 1/8 Handheld Punch, Rhinestones Basic Jewels

Day 19: A Christmas Carol

#19 A Christmas Carol

When I was trying to figure out what to do for day 19 I was aimlessly wondering a store on the end cap was a book of Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol. Score!! This is one of my favorites for christmas and one I never get tired of. So the idea was born to make a craft "chain" to go with the book. lol I made 4 of these star chains. When they were done I had made a total of 160 stars.

IMG_0507

Here is the card and tag we created.

Rubber Redneck Quick Shots:

  • Die cut out a lot of stars using the Big Shot and Star Framelits. I used some misc dsp from my stock pile, you'll want several different patterns of dsp. Each star took a total of 4 Stars for the front and back in 2 different sizes.
  • Die cut out lots of circles using the Big Shot and Layering Circles Framelits. I die cut them out of Silver Glimmer Paper to go with the Silver Bells. You need 2 circles per star.
  • Assemble each side of the star but don't glue the two halves together. (Learn from my mistake lol) I did so then I had to try to thread the hemp twine through and that really slowed me down.
  • You will need a heavy hemp for this project. Lay your stars out on a table (however many you want). Then lay your bells  out between the stars this will give you an idea how long to cut your hemp.
  • Then thread your bells onto the hemp. Place the hemp out across the stars and slide the bells into place.
  • Go through and attach dimensionals to the stars.
  • Attach the other half of the star and your star chain is complete.
  • Decorate the card with dsp and some diecut stars. I stamped the number from retired 25 Days Stamp Set in Real Red Ink.
  • The gift tag was created out of leftover scraps of dsp and Whisper White card stock. I stamped the number from retired 25 Days Stamp Set in Real Red Ink.

Supplies Used:
Stamp: 25 Days
Ink: Real Red
Paper: Whisper White, Silver Glimmer
Acc.: Big Shot, Stars Framelits, Layering Circle Framelits, 1/8 Handheld Punch, Heavy Hemp, Silver Bells

Day 20 Santa Pinball

#20 Santa Pinball

Wouldn't be Christmas without Santa Pinball! lol Hubby found these and wanted to put them in the gift. He found them at Walmart.
The card we printed our saying on Whisper White card stock. Stamped the 20 from retired 25 Days Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I stamped the "greetings from the northpole" from retired Greetings from Santa Stamp Set (I thought that was fitting for a santa gift lol) in Real Red. Then stamped the stars in Old Olive. The gift tag was created using the Banner Triple Punch on a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper. Then I added some misc scraps of dsp from the left overs. I stamped the 20 onto Whisper White card stock and punched it out with the 1 1/4" Circle Punch. Add a Rhinestone I colored and some misc ribbons  I had.

Supplies Used
Stamp: 25 Days, Greetings from Santa
Ink: Real Red, Old Olive, Tuxedo Black Memento Ink
Paper: Whisper White, Silver Glimmer Paper
Acc. Banner Triple Punch, 1/8 Handheld Punch, 1 1/4 Circle Punch, Rhinestones

Rubber Redneck New Years Recovery Kit

Wouldn't be New Years without a recovery kit! lol This was fun to make and I got some great pictures of the kids sent to me playing with this kit. I was happy that these where such a hit!

IMG_9947

First I created the recovery kit part. The mask I cut out of Basic Black card stock using my Silhouette and then I stapled elastic to it.
Then I put Tic Tacs and Ear Plugs into little baggies. I printed out my little New Year's Recovery Kit List that we came up with onto Whisper White card stock and then I glued it to a piece of Basic Black card stock.

N2

To hold it all together I used one of our Gold Binder Clips! I love these things and use them a lot.

New Years Recovery Kit

Apparently I live under a rock I didn't know you could buy small bottles of water. Snort I picked these up at Target I thought they were cute! I simple decorated them with package ribbon in black and gold easy peasy. Then I decorated a Kraft Tag A Bag Gift Bags. I designed a printable to print out onto Whisper White card stock. I used the retired stamp sets  It's a Celebration and Ting of Tags. I stamped in Crushed Curry and Smoky Slate Ink. Behind the whisper White card stock I added a piece of Fabulous Foil Acetate. I attached to the gift bag with some Everyday Chic Washi Tape. Then finished with some Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Day #11 Gingerbread Man Day

Love that cute little gingerbread guy in the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set!

These were all the goodies I created for the day 11 Gift. Of course I made every families a little different some how! lol I also by complete chance found gingerbread shaped cookie cutter. Some of the items can still be purchased and I have them listed below. This gift uses the Candy Cane Lane Suite from the 2016 Holiday Catalog that has since retired.

I purchased those large wooden clothespins and modgepodged the Candy Cane Lane DSP from the Holiday 2016 Catalog onto it.  I added the gingerbread man from Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set onto the front. Then found a recipe on line for gingerbread cookies. We have people in our family that are also gluten free so I had to also find a recipe that was gluten free. My helper however typed up the directions wrong and I didn't catch it. Whoops lol I added the cookie recipe we found.

Little packet of coloring puzzles. I happen to find the puzzles at Hobby Lobby during my wanderings. lol I decorated a Kraft Tag a Bag Gift Bags. I decorated the bag with the Cookie Cutter Christmas and Candy Cane Christmas Stamp Sets.

I wanted to put gingerbread cookies (my favorite) in the gift but of course I couldn't find any that would keep for a year. lol So I found this idea on pinterest. Thought it was super cute! I just copied the saying I found on line. Printed it off onto Whisper White card stock and decorated.

Day 12 Christmas Jars

Man I don't know about you all but I love getting gifts like this! Jars are so fun to fill with goodies!

Rubber Redneck Tin Tags

I filled a quart jar full of goodies! Everyone's jars were filled with different items. We did Holiday socks, candy, chap stick, $1 mittens, christmas stickers, change, travel games, and etc. I also filled them with fun christmas filler I found at Hobby Lobby. I had a blast creating these! If you want to create something like this at target and walmart they have a party isle and will have christmas theme things for little gifts for kids or hit the $1 Spot at Target. lol The front of the jar is the countdown card. I used the 25 Days retired stamp set.

On the left is the tag I created to go outside of the gift. I punched out a piece of Cucumber Crush card stock with the Banner Triple Punch. I used the 25 Days, Tin of Tags, and Project Life Date It Retired Stamp Sets.

Day 13 Jingle Bell Toss

Rubber Redneck Jingle Bell Toss

While researching ideas I stumbled upon this fun idea of using bells and miniature cups to create a game! I thought it was a must do because our family actually has a game with these cups only you use quarters and cards so when I saw this it was happening! lol However I didn't realize how hard it would be to find little miniature red cups. We went to so many stores trying to hunt them down. It was pretty funny. The bottom pictures are the Day 13 card and gift tag. They used the retired stamp sets 25 Days and Stitched with Cheer.

Tree Game

The base is created out of a canvas board and 2 miniature red cups on one end to prop it up. We hot glued them on.
On the top side you lay out the cups to look like an upside down tree. Hot glue those too.
Find a decorative christmas bag and fill with christmas bells. We had enough cups left over that hubby and I made one for us to. We had a blast playing it!

Then I typed up the directions on how to play.

Jingle Bell Toss
2 Players

Directions:

  1. Each player gets 6 bells of a single color.
  2. Stand a few feet away from the board. Toss 1 bell at a time and try to get it into the cups.
  3. Bells that land in the top row of the cups are worth 2 points each.
  4. Bells that land in the middle row and bottom row are worth 1 point each.
  5. After you have thrown all six bells in your color then it is your opponent’s turn to toss their bells. Any bell that lands in a cup that already has an opponent’s bell in it cancels out the points for both bells. Once both players have thrown all of their bells the round is complete and points can be totaled.
  6. Continue to keep playing rounds until someone’s score totals 21 at the end of a round then that person wins.

Picture perfect birthday

This year hubby and I are celebrating the new year for a month instead of just new year's day lol, so what better way to do that then make new year's cards to send out to our friends. After this past year and the last few weeks around here this saying is pretty fitting for us. I also paired it the my ever favorite greeting set Teeny Tiny Wishes. Don't those colors together just feel fresh and vibrant? Perfect for our January!
