Family Gifts: Christmas Countdown Day 9 + 10

Hello crafty friends,

I hope all of you had a Merry Christmas! We've been pretty busy around here, we still have a few more family christmas to do. lol Lots to share and their will be several blog posts a day till I get all caught up, some sneak peeks from the Occasions and SAB Catalog, wrapping up the christmas countdowns, and my December Daily Album.

But first blog post for today is Day 9 and 10 of the family Christmas countdown gifts. Which features several box ideas that I will be sharing how to make down the road, be sure to subscribe to my blog so you don't miss out on anything! If you would like to see all the Christmas countdown gifts check out my Family 25 Days Christmas Countdown Board on pinterest, follow me on pinterest so you don't miss out on anything!

Day 9

Build a snowman day....this has been one of my favorite things to do since I was a kid! So I came up with some fun gift ideas and a fun craft project to do indoors this year.

IMG_9577

How about a decorated electric tea light. Cute right? I found this general idea on pinterest. So fun and easy to do too. I made the hat using the Big Shot, Everyday Jar's Framelits and Layering Squares Framelits. Stamped the images from the retired Stitched With Cheer Stamp Set and used the Holly Berry Builder Punch.
Use a sharpie to draw the eyes on the tea light.

IMG_9586

Of course it needed a little box to hold it. I filled the box with tinsel another awesome use for that stuff!

IMG_9594

The lid I created for the box. I just die cut out the center with the retired Perfect Pines Framelits. Then added a piece of Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate over the opening so the snowman could peek through :)

IMG_9595

The adults got snowman poop boxes. lol I made this using the Big Shot, Layering Circles Framelits and the Jolly Hat Builder Punch. It fits the tic tac containers. (This was one of my husbands favorites to give his siblings. lol)

IMG_9574

I wanted some sort of crafty thing that the families could do so we created build a snowman kit using glue, cotton balls, card stock, and pipe cleaners. I am going to be sharing this hole project in Jan sometime along with the printable we created so be sure to come back for that one.

Every family recieved some sort of fun gifts we purchased that had a snowman theme. I found these really cute snowman picks for everyone. Everyone's gift was different to match kid's ages.

Family Gifts: Christmas Countdown Day 7 + 8

Happy Friday!

I am back with Day 7 & Day 8 Christmas Countdown Gifts. Another box idea that I will be sharing how to make down the road, be sure to subscribe to my blog so you don't miss out on anything! If you would like to see all the Christmas countdown gifts check out my Family 25 Days Christmas Countdown Board on pinterest, follow me on pinterest so you don't miss out on anything!

Day 7

Everyone needs a special handmade box with a very special gift inside.

IMG_9836

I created this box out of last years Presents & Pinecones Designer Series Paper from the 2016 Holiday Catalog. I made the boxes different too for each family.

IMG_9835

Inside an ornament that hubby and I created! Every Christmas tree needs a special handmade ornament! We used the silhouette to cut out gold vinyl. We found clear ornaments at the craft store and filled them with tiny pine cones. I used ribbon and a red bell from my stash of crafting stuff. To make the box a little more festive we filled it with pine cones.

IMG_9815

We made two different designs the manger and the buck.

IMG_9828

Sorry the picture isn't great we had a heck of time getting pictures of them. Then on the back we put the year, name, and on my brother's we added our first christmas since they just got married. This was the first time I attempted something like this and they were overall very easy and fun to make! We were going to make deer ones for our tree this year but the craft store where I got them can't keep the ornaments in stock. lol

IMG_9507

Here is the card we put in the gift. I used the retired 25 Days and Stitched with Cheer Stamp Set. I made these different too for everyone.

IMG_9520

Tags for outside of the package all made different too. I used the Santa's Sleigh Stamp Set, Santa's Sleigh Thinlits and retired 25 Days Stamp Set. The tags were all made out of my scraps of card stock great way to use up those scraps.

Day 8

We found some really cute Santa Pants.

IMG_9558

Are these not adorable? We filled them with Christmas sprinkles to use on the holiday baking.

IMG_9551

Here is the card we created to go in the gift. I used the Oh, What Fun Stamp Set and retired 25 Days Stamp Set.

IMG_9527

The tag for the package. I used the retired 25 Days Stamp Set, retired Wrapped in Warmth Designer Series Paper, Big Shot, Layering Ovals Framelits and Banner Triple Punch. I made all the tags different too.

Family Gifts: Christmas Countdown Day 3 + Day 4

Hey Peeps,

Back with my last blog post for the day ;) Another batch of Family Gifts for their Christmas countdown. I am pinning everything to my Family 25 Days Christmas Countdown Board on pinterest too.

Day 3

It's important to write those letters to Santa so how about these AWESOME Santa Letter Board!! I made a couple of different ones so they weren't all the same. lol

Santa's Letter Board 3

The directions below are for this one but all the paper is the same measurement for all of them. Some of the product you can still purchase but some has retired. We picked up the frames at a craft store and then painted the frames. They took 2 coats.

To Create this you will need the following supplies:

  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Big Frame Board (I got this at a craft store)
  • Delta Red Paint
  • Foam Brush
  • Stampin' Up! Supplies

Rubber Redneck Quick Shots:

  • Cut 1 Sheet of Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper 11 3/4" x 11 3/4" for the background. I modgepodged this to the board.

Create a pocket:

  • Cut 1 piece of Basic Black card stock 1" x 11 3/4" score at 1/2", fold on the scored line and attach the bottom of the board inside.
  • Cut 2 pieces of Basic Black card stock 1" x 4" and score at 1/2" on each side. Glue each piece to the the sides of the board towards the bottom inside.
  • Cut 1 piece of the Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper in a different patter 5" x 11 3/4". Glue the dsp to the basic black card stock that is facing up forming a pocket.

Decorate:

  • Cut a piece of Gold Glimmer Paper 1" x 11 3/4". Slide so it goes into the pocket and glue to the board. This helps break up the patterns of the paper.
  • Die cut out the Gold Foil Sheet using the Big Shot and Santa's Sleigh Thinlits.
  • Stamp the deer in Tuxed Black Memento Ink onto Kraft card stock. Zip through the Big Shot with the Santa's Sleigh Thinlits. Color the reindeer hooves in using the Basic Black Marker.
  • Stamp the trees in Emerald Envy onto Emerald Envy card stock. Zip through the Big Shot with the Santa's Sleigh Thinlits. Add Dazzling Diamonds to the tree.
  • Assemble your scene and attach with Stampin' Dimensionals. I used the Baker's Twine Trio Pack to make reins.
  • Hot glue the Kraft Rope around the edges on the inside and hot glue a reindeer to the top right corner.

Santa's Letter Board 1

Santa's Letter Board 2

Awesome right? These were a blast to make but they do take about 2 days because of the painting. The Santa Letter slides right into the pocket. The Santa Letter I found on Pinterest and posted the PDF here for you all if you would like to print your own.

Download Dear Santa Letter

IMG_9437

The cards for my side of the family we put on them Redneck Made Elves Inc. My family is always making fun of me and calling me a redneck and hubby said he felt like a elf so we decided to be silly one night while making gifts. This is what happens when you go on little sleep and inhale fumes. lol

IMG_9435

I of course couldn't just keep them the same. lol

IMG_9442
IMG_9442

The gift tags to go on the packages. I made these using the Big Shot and Merry Tag Framelits. These were fun to make.

That was it for day 3 gift! I really loved them and hope everyone did to.

Day 4

Was games for each family we found some cute games at Target and of course I forgot to take a picture of that too so all I have to show is the cards and tags we made.

IMG_9432
IMG_9432

Cards were made from Basic Black and Whisper White card stock. I stamped the number in real red. I took the stamp from Oh, What Fun inked in Versa Mark and poured Silver Embossing Powder over it and heat set it.

IMG_9450

Watercolor Christmas Project Kit

Christmas Project Kit

Hey my stamping friends I am back with another fun item; the Watercolor Wishes Project Kit item #144649 from our Holiday Catalog. It coordinates with the Watercolor Christmas Stamp Set (W) item #144835 (C) item #144838 (sold separately). Both items can be found on page 34.

Watercolor Christmas Project Kit

The Watercolor Wishes Project Kit makes 20 cards, 5 each of 4 designs. Perfect for last minuet Christmas cards! This kit is retiring and has been marked down 20% too!

Watercolor Christmas

Once you've complete the cards in the kit you'll have a great stamp set to use for future Christmas cards! I just love the font in this set.

Watercolor Christmas Cards 1

Here are the four different designs the kit makes. Simple and easy to make!

Watercolor Christmas Cards

I also created some a little more stepped up by adding on some additional embellishments and changing the layout on some of them. I still wanted to keep them simple and not use a lot of product.

IMG_2646

Card #1 I stepped up by stamping on the red card base. I inked the stamp from Watercolor Christmas Stamp Set in Real Red and stamped directly onto the card base. If you do this one thing to note they need to set and dry for awhile the pre printed card bases don't soak the ink up quite as fast as regular card stock. Then instead of the sequins I added some Metallic Enamel Shapes to the card base.

IMG_2641

Card # 2 I stepped this one up by stamping on the pr-printed red card stock. I inked the stamp from Watercolor Christmas Stamp Set in Real Red and stamped directly onto the card stock. Then I added some Gold Faceted Gems randomly onto the card.

IMG_2652

Card #3 I inked the stamp from Watercolor Christmas Stamp Set in Emerald Envy and stamped down the side of the card base. I changed where the banner was placed on the original card layout. I also stamped the little tree on the tag in Emerald Envy and added a Metallic Enamel Shape to finish.

IMG_2654

Card #4 I flipped the card horizontal first. The greeting was stamped in Emerald Envy instead of in the Memento Ink Tuxedo Black. I personally liked the Emerald Envy on this card than the black. Then I added some Metallic Enamel Shapes to the card base.

Just these few simple changes really stepped up the cards!

Here is a video Stampin' Up! put out on the kit

Day 2 Gift:

Some of you where asking me how did I get this all done with what we've been going through. I did not do these this year this was part of the gift I gave last Christmas to be open this Christmas, it was part of our Year of Gifts for our families. I shared some but not all so I didn't give the gift away. Thus why it is using the retired Holiday Catalog Product from last year ;) Day 2 was Christmas Fun Foam Kits that I forgot to take pictures of. lol I found these while I was cruising an isle looking for ideas for the little ones.

IMG_4156

However I do have a picture from my cousin of her little guy with his completed project. Once again someone saved my bacon! lol

Gift Packaging

One thing I really like to do is create customer wrapping paper. You can do it if you plan ahead that is the key :) I purchased a roll of Kraft Wrapping Paper from Hobby Lobby. I usually stock up on this around Christmas time because that is when they have there wrapping paper at 50% off. To create my wrapping paper I used the Oh, What Fun Photopolymer Stamp Set item #140386 from the main catalog.

OhWhatFun

Tip~ One thing to note is be sure you are stamping on a hard surface. I was working on one of our tables that I thought would hard enough but as you can tell one of my Happy Christmas didn't ink good enough because the table gave.

Rubber Redneck Quick Shots:

  • Roll out the amount of wrapping paper you need. Ink the stamp from Oh, What Fun Stamp Set in Real Red ink and stamp onto the wrapping paper. Repeat till  you have the entire piece stamped on. You can add more images if you would like I just liked the Merry Christmas on it. That's all it takes!

Tip~ Let your paper dry before wrapping your gift it only takes a few minuets to wait.

IMG_9419

This was the day 2 tag label I created.

  • Zip a piece of This Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper through the Big Shot with the Layering Circles Framelits. These are on sale!!!
  • Cut a piece of Whisper White card stock and zip through the Big Shot with the Banner Framelits. Stamp your 2 onto the top in Garden Green Ink. I used the retired 25 Days Stamp Set and retired Metallics Glitter Tape.
  • Ink the stamp from Stitched with Cheer Stamp Set in Real Red and stamp onto a piece of Whisper White card stock. Zip it through the Big Shot with the Bunch of Banner Framelits die cutting it. Attach all of your pieces together with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Punch a hole at the top with the 1/8 Handheld Punch and tie some Candy Cane Baker's Twine through it. Add a Rhinestone Basic Jewel.
  • Attach to your package and use wrapping ribbon to finish decorating.

Card 2

This was the card we created to go inside the packaging with the gift.

Supplies Used
Stamp: Oh, What Fun, Stitched with Cheer, Retired 25 Days of Christmas
Ink: Real Red, Garden Green

Quick Family Update + More

Morning all :)

Lots of things to share but first a quick update on the family :) November Dad had a couple of more surgeries. One of the surgeries was to see if the infection was gone and good news it appeared to be so the doctors went ahead with the other surgeries. All the surgeries went good. Hubby and I took some time off from working to hunt... I hunted 1 day and next morning woke up VERY sick suddenly. lol Their is something very nasty going around and lucky me got it! I spent the next 3 weeks very sick. I got better just in time to head down for my check up at the Mayo (5 hours from us) where I got bad news. My body has adjusted to the meds for my Rheumatoid Arthritis...UGH now everything that's been going on with me make sense. lol

My dad was scheduled to have his last major shoulder surgery on black friday and they where gonna have to go down on thanksgiving since the surgery was scheduled for early morning. So we decided to have Thanksgiving at my brother's new house. I left Rochester and booked it to my brother's new house it's about a 2 1/2 hour drive it took me 5 hours. THUD Traveling the day before Thanksgiving I don't recommend wow so many accidents and crazy drivers. Thanksgiving Day arrived my parents and hubby headed down to my brothers. Here is the turkey cutting the turkey. Hahaha

Turkey

Later that day Hubby and I had to head home because of the dogs and farm. The next morning got up did chores and got on the road to head down for dad's surgery. Another 4 hour drive one way. lol Dad's surgery was supposed to take 3 - 3 1/2 hours they were done in 1 1/2 hours! It went really good and the infection was defiantly gone. FINALLY 10 months and it's gone. Hubby and I booked it to go back home. Another fun day of crazy traffic. Dad was in the hospital for a couple of days had some serious pain but otherwise he was doing good.

Kaitlyn

Next day for us was our niece's birthday party! Hubby and I were exhausted and the poor guy a few days later got sick. He ended up getting what I had only it got so bad it spread to his eyes. Didn't know that could happen and wow peeps that is miserable! So December started off with another sicky. lol

IMG_8609

I turned the big 40 and my gift to myself I woke up sick with another cold. ROFL Finally today I feel like this crud is going away. Dad saw his doctors and everything is healing good he can now start moving his arm around a little. Woo hoo! We are getting their peeps!

Customer Update

  • I know many of you placed orders in November and I am sorry I haven't gotten your thank you gifts out getting so sick really set me back. I hope to have stuff out in the mail next week. Along with the new Occasions and SAB catalogs to those that have placed orders! Thank you all for being supportive and so understanding!!
  • Club members your gifts and project packets will be going out in Jan I don't think I will have stuff done before Christmas. When I mail out packages I 'll let you know.

Quilted Christmas Suite

We are featuring the Christmas Quilt Photopolymer Stamp Set item #144793 from the Holiday Stampin' Up! Catalog. This is part of the Quilted Christmas Suite in the catalog. It also has a matching dies called Quilt Builder Framelits Dies item #144673. You can purchase these items together and save 10% and you'll want to get them soon as they are on the holiday retiring list.

Christmas Quilt

If you are following the hop in order you just arrived from Cindy's BLOG where she showed you all something fabulous! I was excited to feature this bundle when I saw it in the catalog it was one of my must haves as my grandma loved to quilt and taught me how to quilt too. Lots of fond memories of our time together.

Christmas Quilt Card

In this suite their is an embossing folder too called Quilt Top Textured, it is AWESOME! I zipped the Lemon Lime Twist card stock through the Big Shot with it. Add some Quilted Christmas 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper, stamped my images, placed a Stitched Felt Embellishment with some Silver Metallic Thread and some Rhinestone Basic Jewels and boom masterpiece created ;) I wish quilting was that fast! lol

I kept the inside simple. Stamped the greeting in the set and added the little stitched image (I adore that stamp so much). Across the bottom some Lemon Lime card stock and Quilted Christmas 6 x 6 Paper.

I hope you like this project. Now you'll want to hop on over to Mike's BLOG where I know he will have some awesome to show you!
