Window Shopping

I personally love the greetings in this stamp set! I made a batch of these up for some of my good friends who have really been so great and wonderful to me the past few months. I feel so lucky to have them in my life! I paired this set with the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits. I love dragonfly's and thought it worked great on this card.

Time for the close up ;) Love those detailed thinlits and the greeting is just perfect in size and font. Did you all see that 5/8" Crinkled Seam Binding? Ooh la, la I am in love with that ribbon!

Inside I just added a strip of Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper across the bottom. Such fabulous paper!

Later in the week I will be sharing a video and more details on this project so be sure to stop back or subscribe to my blog so you don't miss out on anything.

Rubber Redneck Box of Sunshine

Today's share is my box of sunshine. This is another gift we created for our family members and is part of the "Year Gift" we made. If you would like to see more info about this awesome project we created and what I've shared so far click on the little tag on the left side of my blog labeled Year of Gifts or visit HERE. I still plan on sharing everything I made some items used to create these gifts maybe retired. Ironic part when we created this little did we know hubby's grandpa would have a stroke so it was a much needed gift that week to cheer everyone up. For dh and I we were happy that it helped; that was gift enough for us!

Sunshine Sayings

This card I shared for the Stamp Review Crew Hop awhile ago but this was only part of the gift. :)

Rubber Redneck Quick Shots:

  • Create your card base from the Whisper White Thick card stock.
  • Zip a piece of Crushed Curry card stock through the Big Shot with the Sunburst Thinlit Die.
  • Ink the stamp from Sunburst Sayings Stamp Set (unfortunately this stamp set retired before I shared this project) however their is an image in the Inspired Events Stamp Set that you could used to make the dots, or use the Crushed Curry Marker and ruler to make your own dots.
  • Zip a piece of vellum through the Big Shot with the Stiched Shapes Framelits.
  • Ink the stamp from Sunshine Sayings Stamp Set in Versa Mark then Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and stamp onto the Vellum Circle. Pour Clear Embossing Powder over the image and heat set with the heat too.
  • Die cut out a piece of Basic Black card stock by zipping it through the Big Shot with the Sunshine Wishes Thinlit.
  • Finish off the card by added Silver Metallic Thread and Metallic Sequins.

Sunshine Sayings 2

I didn't decorate every package but some of them I did and this was the outside of the box. I used shirt boxes and those worked slick! It happened to be a dreary day when I was creating these so it sure made the day better!

To decorate:

  • I cut some gift packing ribbon and curled with scissors.
  • Die cut out a piece of Crushed Curry card stock using the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits.
  • I die cut out sunshine again in Basic Black card stock using the Big Shot and Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.
  • Finished with a Rhinestone.

Box of Sunshine

When I got the year gift idea I knew I wanted to do a box of sunshine in it. I've done these in the past and they have been so much fun to create! Of course each family got some of the same gifts but also different gifts to suit that family likes. Some of the items were just by chance too. Hubby and I both busted out laughing when we found the google eye key change. The little coin purse and hand santizer was a happy accident. I was in the check out lane at one store and glanced over and there they where. lol

I added my stamping touch to it by die cutting out a piece of Crushed Curry card stock with the Sunburst Thinlit Die. Then stamping on it with the Sunburst Sayings Stamp Set. So much fun!!

Did you miss out on this die when it retired this past may? I have good news friends!! Right now the Sunburst Thinlit Die is in the clearance rack at a huge discount!! Awesome Sauce!! Get it before it's gone!! Clearance rack is only while supplies last!

Quick Family Update + More

Hey peeps!

Last week I was going to post an update and with a snap of a finger the week was gone. My dad is still not better; it's turned into such a nightmare and at this point his arm may not be 100% every again. Since I last posted he's had more surgeries and the incision from the first surgery isn't healed yet. Basically not good peeps, not good at all. We just have to take it day by day but we still have a VERY, VERY long road ahead of us. Still working on everything hubby and I are averaging 15-17 hour work days. We've made some progress on the parents house but that's been a whole other story. lol My doctors also increased my meds and I am struggling with that; they make me so sick. I don't know how that is good for you. lol On top of this I broke my foot!! So it's been pretty wild for hubby and I.

IMG_5775

Cabinets installed in the kitchen.

IMG_3769 - Copy

Apparently we haven't taken a full on picture of the kitchen cabinets since we got the crown molding on them. lol Still have to install black splash.

Then we moved onto the master bathroom.

 IMG_5959

Started ripping the sheet rock and wallpaper out.

IMG_5959

Gutted master bathroom. This took us a 12 hour day because they used glue and so many nails it was insane.

 IMG_5959

All sheet rocked!

IMG_3835

Tile installed. The next day when we went over some of the tile didn't settle right so it had to ripped back up and reset. (roll my eyes)

IMG_6680

This is the bathroom vanity hubby and I made for my parents. Turned out pretty cool but wow it was a nightmare to get in. The walls apparently are crooked by 1/2" no less so it wouldn't fit in the front of the opening for the vanity. Dh only measured the opening in the back. Yep he learned his lesson and apparently I can't leave him unsupervised. hahaha Hubby and I had to tear the vanity apart to trim it down after building it for 2 weeks. He was on my list! lol

IMG_6730

Master shower done and boy was this thing a nightmare and pain. I won't bore you with the details but I almost went on strike over this shower 4 months working on that stupid thing. lol We just have to finish sealing it up, install the toilet and put the washer/dryer unit back in this room will be done!

IMG_6453

Utility room tile installed. Still have to trim out this room but where getting there.

IMG_6235

July 4th we got a surprise we had a baby born early. Her poor lungs weren't developed so she was a bottle baby. She had to be feed 3 times a day to start out with.

IMG_6291

Few weeks later and she decided she was so done doing the bottle thing. lol Never had that happen before. She's pretty cute and doing good.

That's what's been happening for July and good part of August, besides our regular work.

Customer Update

Sorry I still haven't gotten catalogs out to those that qualified. I am waiting on a couple of things to arrive to make up for being late with them. Cross your fingers next week they go out sometime!

I am also in the process of packaging up all the prizes from my 25 Days of Christmas Giveaway. I will be contacting the people that won prizes over the next few days.

Thanks for the good thoughts, emails, cards, phone calls, prayers and the continued support of my businesses! I do appreciate it a lot!! I feel blessed to have such great friends and customers.

The Stamp Review Crew; This Little Piggy

Stamp Review Crew blog banner(2)

The 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, you can hop along from one blog to the next gathering all kinds of inspiration for one Stampin' Up! stamp set. Please note the blog doesn't officially start until Monday August 7, 2017 so some of the links may not work.

If you are following the hop in order you just arrived from Holly Stene's BLOG  where she showed you all something fabulous! We are featuring the This Little Piggy Stamp Set (W) item #143919 (C) item #143922 from the Stampin' Up! Catalog. This is such a cute little set!

This Little Piggy

On personal note. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers for our family. It's been a very long journey and we still have a long journey ahead of us. My dad is still not better thus why no blog posts I just can't keep up. I'll do an update in a few days here. This is the firs card I've made in 2 months. lol Thank you again for calls, texts, emails and all the cards I am greatly touched beyond words!

When I first saw this set I knew it was one I would need to get ASAP. Why?? When I was 3 my parents started raising pigs for many, many years. My brother and I showed them in hog shows, 4-H and several time's went to the MN State Fair with our 4-H pigs. They had pigs for 27 years so it was a pretty big part of my life growing up. Lot of stories, great memories and not so great memories from winning grand champion, finding my awesome husband, loosing a pig named Sweet pea to be found months later, broken hand, loosing part of a finger and some fabulous bacon! My husband and I were dating when my parents still had pigs. Out of all my boyfriends he was the only one that ever would help with chores and cleaning barn. He was a city boy; so he won my dad's approval right off the bat. lol His exact words to me were daughter he's a keeper ya better keep that one. haha

The funny part about the set is I ended up winning it at Onstage so it was meant to be mine! lol They raised a breed called spots so that is what inspired today's card. I colored the pig to look like our spots we raised all those years.

Rubber Redneck Quick Shots:

  • Zip the Smoky Slate card stock through the Big Shot with the Pinewood Planks 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I placed the card stock at a slight angle in the embossing folder to create my look.
  • I inked the kisses from This Little Piggy Stamp Set in Basic Gray and stamped on the Basic Gray card stock to create a pattern look.
  • I added some Pick a Pattern Washi Tape, 1/2 Powder Pink Finely Woven Ribbon (I cut it in half to make it a smaller strip) and some Silver Mini Sequin Trim. Love the new sequin trim!
  • Stamp the pig from This Little Piggy Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto Whisper White card stock. Zip it through the Big Shot with the Stitched Shapes Framelits to die cut it out.
  • I used a Blender Pen and colored in the image with Powder Pink and Basic Gray Ink to achieve the spotted look. The Powder Pink is the perfect color for pigs too! Love this fabulous new in color! On the back of my circle I added some Black Metallic Thread.
  • To finish I added some of Black Rhinestone Jewels (sneak peek from the holiday catalog).

IMG_1896

The inside was kept simple. Basic Gray and Whisper White card stock. At the top some more of that awesome Pick a Pattern Washi Tape. Bottom left corner I stamped some more kisses in Powder Pink and Basic Gray.
