Retirement Party; Invite

Wow Peeps dh and I had one VERY busy crazy weekend. We made some awesome progress though! Hubby got the tile laid by my parents front door FINALLY....yeppers we still have stuff to finish at the parents place from our project this fall. Then we figured out my parents new kitchen layout. Parents need new kitchen cabinets BAD but we were going to wait till after the wedding....but mom's dish washer and stove started to not work, so new appliances had to be purchased....and of course the new appliances won't fit into the openings because it's an old modeler home and a LOT has changed since it was built. Just WOW right? Yes this is going to be squeezed into everything else we have going on. I CRUMBA It's exciting though and it will be awesome when it's done! What a weekend.

I mentioned the other day that my beautiful mama is retiring! She is starting another chapter of her life and we are all so excited for her! I personally am hoping this means more apple pie ;) hehe j/k mom. This is the invite I created for her special retirement party; all 60 of these babies. The invite uses the Bundle Birthday Fiesta Photopolymer Stamp Set & Fiesta Time Framelites item #142268 on pg. 11 in the Stampin' Up! Catalog. We are having one big Fiesta!!

Birthday Fiesta

I can't even begin to tell how awesome and fun this set is!! I was meh about it but WOW amazing things can be done with this beauty! Of course it has a lama in it, I honestly don't understand the craze over them to me there just like goats only a bigger version nothing special. lol I don't know maybe because I grew up on a farm. Please don't report me to the lama lovers. hehe When you purchase as a bundle you can save 10%!

60 cactus and flowers die cut out thanks to hubby. He's the best I just stamped them! I ADORE that cactus!!

Rubber Redneck Quick Shots:

  • I took the stamp from Birthday Fiesta Stamp Set; inked it in Tempting Turquoise and stamped around the edges of the Tempting Turquoise card stock.
  • On the left side I added a strip of Festive Birthday Designer Series Paper.
  • We printed out the wording onto Whisper White card stock. That was a little trick finding fonts and figuring out the spacing but hubby is a genius at this.

  • After printing I cut them down. We printed so we could get 4 to a sheet of card stock.
  • I stamped the Fiesta in Melon Mambo onto the Whisper White card stock and then stamped the little flower on the right in Crushed Curry.
  • Then started the assembling process. I glued the Whisper White to the Tempting Turquoise card stock.
  • At the top is the one banner that was die cut out using the Big Shot and Fiesta Framelits in the Festive Birthday Designer Series Paper. Next is the Crushed Curry banner. I die cut it out using the Big Shot and Fiesta Framelits, then I stamped onto the Crushed Curry card stock.
  • On the bottom left side I added the cactus and flower.

I love how it turned out and the colors are so festive! Perfect for this big celebration!

Ta-DA and the crowd goes wild!! Ok maybe not. lol So what in the world? Why am I soo excited about this?? This baby is my tin to hold this year's project life cards as I complete them for our project life daily journal!!! In the past I always come up with some sort of container to put my completed cards in for the year. Why do I do it, cause they are soo cool to look at before I put them into the album. I started the journey of the daily project life journal in 2015 and it's been so awesome....even if I am behind a year and 3/4. lol I haven't shared my plans for this year yet or what our theme will be but I am giving you all a sneak peek to my Friday blog post :) Be sure to visit Friday as I will have lots more pictures to share on this project and reveal the theme for this year!

I paired this gorgeous tin with the Balloon Adventures Bundle item #144708 from the Occasions Catalog which also happens to be over $50 so you can earn the Card Tin FREE!! SCORE!

Here is what the tin looks like inside. Yeppers I decorated the dividers. It does only come with 9 dividers so I made 3 more out of chipboard to finish out the months. Family Gift's; New Year's Eve Jars

New Years Bundle

New Year's Eve has come and gone but I plan on showing all the stuff I made for our family gifts. This project is the New Year's Eve Gift Jar that we created for our family members and is part of the "Year Gift" we made! If you would like to see more info about this awesome project we created and what I've shared so far click on the little tag on the left side of my blog labeled Year of Gifts or visit HERE. This was one of my FAVORITES out of the Year Gifts, yes, we made a lot of AWESOME stuff but I thought these really rocked! This was also one of the projects that I didn't get made till December because of the candy that would go inside some. I used a lot of different stamp sets to create this project but the main stamp set used is Designer Tin of Cards Photopolymer Stamp Set item #141739 on pg 161 in our main catalog.

Designer Tin of Cards

This is one of those sets that I think everyone needs! It works for many occasions and is also perfect for your project life!!

The Break Down of Goodies in the Jar

Everyone's jars were different for several reasons. Not everyone got the midnight kisses, some don't do candy at all. A couple of the Jars didn't have balloons in them because of Latex Allergies. Some of the confetti stuff had to be different too because of allergies. I also made the jars different to suit people's favorite colors too! I personally hate the color Pink so bad. It literally gives me an instant headache and makes me want to vomit when I see it. I don't know why it's been like that since I was a kid, so I personally didn't want to give someone a color they hate. lol To me that is knowing someone and truly caring about them. So yeah, I really put a LOT of thought into this gift!

Noise Makers

These were so AWESOME when they were done! I saw the idea on pinterest and knew I had to make them! I thought they would be perfect for the two little ones too. This project however didn't go well for us... hahaha, it was quite the project and story! First, I thought I had picked up the black paint, nope and of course this wasn't discovered till 8pm at night when we went to work on them. Strike 1! I picked up paint the next day, came home painted them and let them dry overnight just to be extra safe. However what pinterest didn't tell you is you definitely need bigger bells. With smaller bells, you can't slide the gift package ribbon through them at all. ROFL Another discover at 8pm at night and in this small town where in the world do you find this many bells at Christmas time no less (we made 13 of these and they each had 8 bells on them). ROFL Strike 2!  Off to town the next day yet again when I should really be home working on the gifts. lol Luckily for us I managed to find some and they had exactly just enough packages left (my angles working full time again). Home to work on them, but I noticed that the wrapping ribbon paint was coming off so they looked bad. Ughh Strike 3! Off to town again to find higher quality ribbon. They finally worked after having 4 days tied up into this project. lol We for some reason we also thought they would fit into the jars too and they didn't. It was pretty funny. The lesson don't wait to do this project in Dec try starting it in November. Haha

Supplies Needed
Wavy Wood Sticks
Black Craft Nontoxic Paint
3/4" to 1" bells
High quality present wrapping ribbon

To Create Them:

  • I picked up wood wave sticks from walmart you get like 24 in a package. Then paint with craft paint. If little ones are involved, you want to make sure you get a paint that is nontoxic if they happen to stick it in their mouth. lol All the sticks were painted black and left to dry overnight.
  • You want larger bells so they will slide easier over the ribbon at least 3/4". I used gift wrap ribbon and you want a high-quality ribbon so the color doesn't flake off.
  • Put all the bells on your ribbon first, you will want quite a bit of ribbon to work with. Tie one end of the ribbon to the wavy stick and then start wrapping around the wavy stick you'll want 4 bells on each side. Tie the other end to the stick when done wrapping.
  • Cut some more ribbon and tie to the wavy stick on the bottom and curl it.

Swizzle Sticks

Swizzle Sticks

These were awesome too! They do take some time and a lot of work because you know me I can't do simple. lol Each jar had 3 different designs of swizzle sticks.

Supplies Needed
Stamps: Designer Tin of Cards, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Thoughtful Banners, It's a Celebration, Sunburst Sayings
Ink:VersaMark, Memento Ink Tuxedo Black, Crushed Curry
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Silver Glimmer Paper
Tools: Big Shot, Star Framelits, Heat Tool, Medium Star Punch
Acc.: Gold and Silver Embossing Powder, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Rhinestones
Misc: Wood Stir Sticks, Gift Packaging Ribbon

To Create Them:

  • Punch out the Whisper White and Basic Black card stock with the Medium Star Punch. Attach the Basic Black stars to the stir sticks with Glue Dots or Dimensionals.
  • Stamp onto the Whisper White card stock using the following stamps Designer Tin of Cards, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Thoughtful Banners, It's a Celebration, Sunburst Sayings in the following inks Memento Tuxedo Black, Crushed Curry and VersaMark. Emboss the images you want with Silver and Gold Embossing Powder. Add Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to the ones you want. I did each set design at once to make it easier and that way your ink doesn't dry before you pour embossing powder over your images. Attach the Whisper White star with a Glue Dot or Stampin' Dimensional.
  • Zip Silver Glitter Paper through the Big Shot with the Star Framelits and attach to the ones you want to have the glitter star. Attach with a Stampin' Dimensional. Add Basic Jewels Rhinestones in where you want.
  • Tie some gift wrap ribbon around the stir stick and curl.

Here is a close up of them. SWEET!!

New Year's Resolution Cards

New Years Resolution Cards

Super easy and fun to create! I printed out the resolution cards we designed onto Whisper White card stock. In the corners, I inked the stamp from Designer Tin of Cards Stamp Set in Crushed Curry and stamped. Across the bottom, I added some Silver Glimmer Paper.

Then tie some gift wrap ribbon around to keep them together.

Download New Years Resolution Card for your next project. Simply print onto Whisper White card stock and trim the border off if you don't want the border. Enjoy!

Midnight Kisses

Another idea I saw on Pinterest and absolutely loved!! Very easy to make and these also would be awesome for any event or occasion.
I purchased 3/4" Circle Labels from Target. Using the Project Life Date Stamp Set; I stamped 2017 in Memento Ink Tuxedo Black onto the labels. Then I using a Sponge Dauber I add Gold Metallic Ink onto the label. Then placed the labels onto the bottom of the Hershey kisses.

It's hard to see but we used the Silhouette to cut out Happy New Year 2017 in White Vinyl. I then added it to the jar. The jar lids we painted in the black craft paint. Then filled the jars with filler I purchased at Hobby Lobby. We punched stars and etc. to place in the jars too. I added gift wrap ribbon and another bell onto the jar.

Here are the 4 Jars all done. Each family received a New Year's Jar. Aren't these AWESOME!! Even with the crazy stuff that happened they turned out AMAZING!!! For us we made a pretty fun memory with LOTS of laughs.

We also created this for one family as it was our nephew's 1st New Year! I picked up a frame from Walmart. Slide some Basic Black card stock into it. Using the Silhouette, we cut out My First New Year in white vinyl. I added a Gold Foil Star and a Silver Glitter Star in the bottom right corner to finish it.

Since we didn't do our family Christmas till December 31st. We were able to be watch my brother and wife to be open their New Year's Gift. Which was pretty awesome to be able to be part of it!

They loved it too!

My brother really loved the noise maker's. lol

My cousin sent me this pic on New Year's Eve of her little guy loving the balloons made my heart so happy to see :)

Family Update

Happy Friday!

It's been one wild start to the year for us and boy do I have some laughs for you! First my lap top wouldn't work, thought we had it fixed and then wham. It took almost a month to figure out what in the world was going on with it. This would be the second one I've gone through in less than a year and refuse to buy another laptop. lol Of course all my files are on this thing and not backed up, you would have thought I learned my lesson after that last escapade huh, but ehh life happens.

While that was going on we finished the years gift's for dh's brothers that weren't done that took us 3 solid 15 hour days. Then started the MAJOR clean up of our house and the MONSTER mess in my craft room. I am embarrassed to say it looked like my great aunt's house you know where it's just paths only it wasn't stacked to the ceiling. ROFL What a MESS and I am still not done cleaning it up but where getting there and NEVER again will I let that happen. NEVER lol

Health wise it's been a rough month, lots of VERY bad pain days and the exhaustion hit hard. Lot's of hours logged on my couch and I think I am good on binge watching for the next 5 years. lol Today is the first day I woke not in pain anywhere. I work cows tomorrow so that could be another story. ROFL

You all know my brother is getting married. I am making the wedding invites about 200 of them that need to be done by February 5 YIKES!! but I can handle it.......my mom is retiring and we decided to throw her a big retirement party (last min) since it's a major thing in your life and requires a celebration (of course when we say we, more like my brother you got all this right sis I'll be there just tell me what time haha) so 60 invites that need to go out today that I am not done with (haha) plus all the decorations in less than 2 weeks. No mom I am not sharing anything till your party :) it's a surprise for you! It's gonna be AWESOME and the party of the year cause I have really made some kick ass decorations! Still alright I can do it, been under worse deadlines than this (mom you remember that year of all those swaps 1,000 3d's for convention and pulling 3am mornings haha).....and then now were trying to squeeze in another party...a bridal shower where I am again make invites, and decorations that need to be done ASAP too. I of course want it to special and fabulous because well my sil to be deserves it plus it's not everyday your little brother gets married. I know your think OMG Holly that's crazy cause your crafters you know how much is involved. Lots of unplanned running has been involved picking up party supplies and etc.

Then in between all of this craziness is our everyday daily life, other work life and family happenings......this is what happens when you get a LOT of snow.

It didn't slide off our metal roof on our house like it's supposed to because thank you rain and cold temps it froze to the roof. So one day was  spent shoveling our roof off all 120' feet of it. Needless to say I was out of commission for a couple of days it was a lot of snow and heavy, it kicked my butt. lol

Off course this is what happens when it does warm up and your husband forgets to move the grill up against the house. It slid off the other side almost 2' of snow came crashing down. Ughh what a mess and the grill didn't survive that at all. lol I can laugh now but at the time husband was on my list!

This was one of our clients places I about had a heart attack when I saw this because he normally has a car parked under there; but this time he didn't. Thank god!! Just a trailer and his boat. By some miracle nothing appeared to be damaged other than his roof. Lots of snow here this year so far! Which has kept us pretty busy with our customers. I am ready to cry uncle on the snow.

Right now I don't know how much blogging I will be doing and I haven't decided yet if I will finish out the 25 Days of Christmas because I really will be extremely busy the next 3 weeks here. A lot will depend if I can carve out any time. lol I am very behind on my SU Business and so many other things. I have 600 + emails to go through. lol I still haven't got catalogs mailed out due to seriously not having time and having catalogs damaged that I didn't know about.

So the start of year really has been insane (we thought it would be dull after doing a year of gifts boy we were so wrong lol) and it will probably be like this, till at least after May some time with all these events we have going on. Keep watching for updates and thank you all for the good thoughts, emails, and texts.

Jamie and Holly

Happy New Year + Big Surprise

Happy New Year Peeps!

I know I've been missing all week again and I can FINALLY share why this year I've missed so much time on here besides being super sick and busy with family stuff. It has been super hard to keep this project top secret and not show anything!! I should seriously get a medal for that :) This past two day's we did our family Christmas with my side!! I REALLY couldn't wait for Christmas to get here this year!!!! I was probably more excited than any kid on the planet!!!! haha

So are you ready??? This year I decided to do something pretty FUN and completely CRAZY for our siblings and my one cousin who is like a sister to me and for there families. I made an entire year of gifts celebrating the major holiday's and weird holidays as there Christmas gifts for this year and next year. Yes you did read that right. lol A whole year of gifts!! Some gifts were made and some where purchased. What dose an entire year of gifts look like for one family?

Awesome right? I thought it was awesome!! But of course I had to take it one more step farther and be truly INSANE.... for the month of December I did a countdown to Christmas but instead of just a 12 day countdown I did a 25 day countdown....THUD.

This is what 25 day's of Christmas countdown looks like. Hehehe

We did this for 4 families. Yes 4 families for a total of 363 presents for this coming year!!! 100 of those presents were just the Christmas Countdown for this coming December.

What do you put all these presents in to give? Why 2- 50 gallon totes for each family and some still didn't fit. haha

Of course how do you decorate a 50 gallon tote? Ribbon and lots of ribbon!

How in the world did I get this idea?

Last year in December while I was wrapping the date night kits I made for the family I had the news on and they were talking about some weird holiday like it was doughnut day or something and I thought huh and what?? So off to google I went and low and behold I found a web-sight called Holiday Insights with the major holiday and weird holidays and the idea was born. I thought it would be so fun to teach the kids about it since I obviously knew nothing about it. lol I told my husband what I wanted to do and he thought it would be so cool. So it started out for the kids but then I was having so much fun with it and my cousin is a teacher I thought you know she probably would really like this and so would our siblings. I really started thinking about how hard everyone works and what a great gift this would be as a family gift instead. I love creating gifts for people because for me they are truly from the heart and we love our family so much. I just really wanted to do something special for them this year to show them how much we love them! Family is one of the most important things to me and with everyday life sometimes we forget to have fun, take our families for granted and truly enjoy those little moments. Of course when I told hubby this he thought I was off my rocker yet again :) I knew I would have to really work on it all year to have it done in time.......HA yeah right even working on it all year was not enough time. Every spare minuet I had was working on this project.

This also was part why I didn't share my project life album this past year because so much time was spent on this project I didn't want to give things away :) It defiantly fit our thing of trying something new last year. lol I am a supper organized control freak and I'll be honest no amount of being prepared to do this gift in this magnitude, you still will not be prepared enough. lol

So many things happened with this gift and I will share as they days gifts are opened too because it was really funny all the stuff that happened. The biggest thing I didn't fully think about was what size of gift this would be when we were done and how we would wrap stuff. lol We spent all year saving boxes then dh's cat got sick and decided to use the room I was storing the boxes in as a litter box. Ughh a hole trailer load of boxes in September went to the dump....that really left us scrambling. We didn't really think out what the cost of packaging (totes are soo expensive) it would have been ok if I had planned for that but that was a very big unplanned expense in December to have.

Some other things I didn't think about where the food restrictions some have, having 2 little ones that a lot of things they can't have or do yet (that was a big challenge to try to find things that would work for them). lol Some people told me to just do whatever for it but I didn't want it to be a gift of things people didn't like or would get upset over. I truly care if it's something someone will like and to me that is knowing a person better and making these gifts more personal.

Not all the gifts were the same for every family, each of the families varied in size, children age's, and some have no children. My brother got engaged in October so that was a VERY unplanned thing and we had to scramble to figure out stuff to included Hailey. lol Because in October where do you find things for St. Patty's Day for example it was a riot. I was happy to do it though because it is awesome she is joining our family!!

To start of the gift we created message boards for each family with pictures and a calendar of when to open there gifts.

This is my brother and soon to be wife's message board. We put the picture of when he proposed, engagement picture and a picture of all 4 of us.

This one is of my cousin and here family.

This one is of my hubby's baby brother and wife.

This one is of my hubby's other brother and family.

They turned out so cool!! We used the Silhouette to create the family thing across the top.

All the reactions we got were so funny and some where not at all what we expected. I always prank someone at Christmas time on my side and my cousin panicked. Her response was OMG what did we do this year, she was so worried but when we set the tote down in front of my brother she felt relief. ROFL and by the way I don't think I will ever have to prank you two again mission accomplished. haha They were all pretty shocked and I don't think I will EVER be able to top this gift......but I always find a way I just set the bar VERY high.

So now can you see why I was sooo excited for Christmas this year!! We wrapped gifts right up before we had to leave for our family gathering. It was quite the adventure and we made some awesome memories for us in 2016.

Happy New Year!!
