So how does a Progressive Scrapbook Page work well you start with a 6 X 6 page first, then 8 1/2 x 11 and finish last with a 12 x 12. The key is making sure it will all flow together nicely when done. How do you do that you say?
Tip~ Gather all your supplies including the 6 x6 piece, 8 1/2 x 11 piece and 12 x 12 piece of card stock and work on it but don't attach anything until you are satisfied how it looks overall.
So starting from the bottom we will work our way up. My base is a 12 x 12 piece of Early Espresso card stock. Next was a piece of More Mustard card stock, I stamped the edges with one of the images from Day of Gratitude Stamp Set in More Mustard, ink. I then cut a piece of Cajun Craze card stock, I stamped around the edges again with another stamp from the Day of Gratitude Stamp Set in Cajun Craze ink. I sponged the edges of the Cajun Craze card stock with Cajun Craze ink.
Tip~ By sponging your edges it tones down the sharpness of the edges. It also works great for a fall effect as well.
Since I had so many layers I decided to off set a few things to balance out the page more. I took the Cajun Craze card stock and slid it down so it's off set from the More Mustard card stock. I then brought in that completed 8 1/2 x 11 page and moved it more upwards on the 12 x 12 layout. This worked great for balancing out the page more!
On the right hand side I placed Antique Brads down the side. Notice how evenly spaced out they are down the page.
Tip~ To achieve nice spacing on eyelets, brads and etc. use a pencil and a ruler and mark out your spots before piercing any holes into your layout.
On the left hand side I added a piece of 5/8 Old Olive Satin Ribbon down the side, at the bottom I added little ruffles.
Tip~ To create the ruffles bend your ribbon back and forth and secure with glue dots, or sticky strip.
I stamped the leaves from Day of Gratitude Stamp Set in the following colors Cajun Craze,Early Espresso, More Mustard, and Cajun Craze onto Very Vanilla card stock. I used the Rock -n- Roll Technique on them. I then cut them out and attached them with Stampin' Dimensionals and placed them at the top of the ribbon and over the 8 1/2 x 11 page to tie it all in. I tied a bow from the Hemp Twine Natural. In the center of everything I added a Designer Button Neutral with an Antique Brad in the center. When completed you see how well it all balances out!!
Technique Rock-n-Roll, stamp you image in a lighter ink then before stamping; ink it in a darker ink by lightly tapping or rock the edges in the ink. Very easy technique and eye popping!! Be sure to clean your stamp or stamp off if your doing multiple images so you don't ruin your lighter colored ink pad.
This completes my 12 x 12 Progressive Scrapbook Page!!! I hope you have enjoyed learning about a Progressive Scrapbook Page!!!
