Tip~ When I scrapbook I usually pull the colors from the pictures it takes a lot less time this way. Unless I am doing a specific theme then I may not use the colors from the pictures.
So how does a Progressive Scrapbook Page work well you start with a 6 X 6 page first, then 8 1/2 x 11 and finish last with a 12 x 12. The key is making sure it will all flow together nicly when done. How do you do that you say?
Tip~ Gather all your supplies including the 8 1/2 x 11 piece and 12 x 12 piece of card stock and work on it but don't attach anything until you are satisfied how it looks overall.
So starting from the bottom we will work our way up. My base is a 6 x 6 piece of Early Espresso card stock. Next was a piece of More Mustard card stock, I stamped the edges with one of the images from Day of Gratitude Stamp Set in More Mustard ink. I cut a piece of Old Olive card stock, stamped around the edges in Old Olive ink.I cut a piece of Cork Sheet next, I put Stampin' Dimensionals on the back. I cut a piece of Cajun Craze card stock, stamped around the edges in Cajun Craze ink. This piece I attached my photo too, I added two Metallic Brads in the upper right hand corner. I then attached it the Cork Sheet with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Tip~ Creating your own embellishments is so easy and extremely cost saving for you! This is why I love stamping because the possibilities are endless!!!! The Big Shot is the best investment that any scrapper or stamper can make you have so many things you can do with it!!!
I love Designer Paper because one page of 12 x 12 can go a long way!! I actually used a piece of left over scrap of DSP Autumn Spice. I sponged Early Espresso ink around the edges and attached it with Stampin' Dimensionals on the bottom of my photo. Using my Big Shot and Lots of Tags Sizzlet Die I cut out a piece in Cajun Craze and Very Vanilla card stock. I stamped my saying on the Vanilla card stock in Early Espresso ink. I then punched out the center since the Lots of Tags Sizzlet die cuts it for you. On the Cajun Craze Tag I sponged the edges with Early Espresso Ink. On the Very Vanilla Tag I sponged the edges with Cajun Craze and More Mustard. Just to jump it up a little I used the Mat Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool and punched 4 holes under the wording. This little detail added a lot to the page.
I stamped the leaves from Day of Gratitude Stamp Set in the following colors Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, and More Mustard. I used the Rock -n- Roll Technique on them. I then cut them out and attached them with glue dots to the tag. For the journaling part all I did was punch out a piece of Very Vanilla card stock with the Curly Label Extra-Large Punch I lightly stamped the images in More Mustard and Cajun Craze. I sponged the edges with Early Espresso and Cajun Craze inks. Using the Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker I wrote the year on it then attached it to the back of the photo mat.
Technique Rock-n-Roll, stamp you image in a lighter ink then before stamping; ink it in a darker ink by lightly tapping or rock the edges in the ink. Very easy technique and eye popping!! Be sure to clean your stamp or stamp off if your doing multiple images so you don't ruin your lighter colored ink pad.
