Monday's 3D Challenge~ St. Patty's Day Treat Holder

Top of the morning to you all!

Welcome to Monday's 3D Challenge! I posted this challenge over on the Stampin' Addicts website. Check out our other challenges and this rocking site! If your a demo be sure to sign up for the demo forums. Then pop in and say hi to me catrules.
To celebrate St. Patty's Day I made a St. Patty's Day Treat Holder.

Directions~ I recommend watching the tutorial video for the directions.

1. Cut a piece of card stock 6" x 9" (Mine was Barely Banana card stock)

2. Score in 1" on both sides on the 9" side.

3. Flip the card stock and score 5" 6" and 8". Cut on the scored lines between the 5" and 6" to create tabs. This then will help you create tabs to form the bottom of your box.

4.Once the box is together then trim the upper sides how you would like.

I used the Sanded Background stamp item #109294, I inked it in Barely Banana then stamped on the Barely Banana card stock. Once I cut my tabs out at the bottom I used the Scallop Trim Border Punch. After the box was assembled I used Happy St. Patrick's Day stamp from Teeny Tiny Wishes item #115370.

To create the clovers, I used the Big Shot item #113439 with the Scalloped Heart Embosslits Die. I cut out 3 in Garden Green card stock, then using the Full Heart Punch I punched out 3 in Certainly Celery. I attached them to the wood stick with glue dots and then add a Fresh Favorites I button to the center of them. To make the coins. I took a Peppermint Patty. I punched out a piece in Brushed Gold with the 1 3/4 circle punch. I used the Go Go Boots Alpahbet item #113450 and die cut a dollar sign out in Garden Green I then attached all of this to the Peppermint Patty.

Card Share using Great Friend

Morning all!

Thank goodness it is Friday!! Yesterday my mom got her cast on her foot and ankle, so now it is a little more stable. She is in a lot of pain so they are keeping her on the pain pills for another week. Thank you everyone for the well wishes!

Today's share is another card I made for a fundraiser for here and I also used my Monday 3D Challenge as my inspiration for this card. Recently a customer said she wasn't into making 3D items and wondered why everyone always made so much 3D stuff, so I wanted to show how easy you can use the 3D item for inspiration and turn it into a card!

I used Great Friend item# 113792, Inspired by Nature item #111656 and Thank You Kindly item #111700. My base is Chocolate Chip card stock, then a piece of Old Olive. I sponged the Old Olive with Old Olive classic ink. Next I cut a piece of Kraft card stock. I stamped the butterflies from Great Friend in Tempting Turquoise and then masked them. I took the Inspired by Nature stamp inked it Really Rust and stamped over everything on the Kraft card stock. Then I took the Thanks inked it in Chocolate Chip and stamped on the bottom of the Kraft card stock. I stamped the butterflies again in Tempting Turquoise on Kraft card stock and cut them out. I popped them up on Stampin' Dimensionals. I tooks some 5/8 Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon and wrapped around the Kraft card stock. I tied it with some Linen Thread and added a Kraft Corduroy Button to it. I sponged the edge with Chocolate Chip ink to finish it off.

Card using Four Square and Pretty Petals Background Stamp

Morning everyone!

Today is a good day! lol I was supposed to have jury duty and with everything going on what a pain but it got moved to next week!! So this morning I could enjoy the coffee and not rush out the door. lol

The card that I am about to share with you is another one I made for a upcoming fundraiser. I challenged myself to make something different and out of my comfort zone. I gotta admit it was hard but fun to see what I came up with.

I used 2 stamp sets on this card, I used Pretty Petals Background item#111008 and Four Square item#111632. The Four Squares set I got through Sale-A-Bration!! Remember Sale-A-Bration is ending soon and you don't want to miss out on the free goodies that you can earn!!!

My base is Sahara Sand, I stamped the Pretty Petals in Sahara Sand ink onto the card stock and then used the Scallop Edge Punch on the bottom of it. I took the Mat Pack and Paper Piercing Tool and punched holes in each scallop. I then cut a strip of Thoroughly Modern DSP and Soft Suede. I took the cutter kit and roughed up the edges before snailing it down. I then wrapped some 1/2 polka-dot Bermuda Bay Grosgrain Ribbon around and tied a knot. I then took the Many Thanks from the Four Square Stamp Set, inked in Soft Suede and stamped on Sahara Sand card stock and cut it out. Behind it I punched a piece of Bermuda Bay card stock out using the 1 1/4" Square Punch. Using the Scallop Square Punch I punched out a piece in the Thoroughly Modern DSP. I layered all three pieces together and put Stampin' Dimensionals on the back.  at the top I added a Circle Designer Brad. On the inside of the card I added a strip of Thoroughly Modern DSP so it would show when the card was closed.

Card using Petal Pizzazz

Morning everyone! Welcome to my blog!

Today's share is one of the cards I made for an upcoming fundraiser. It has just been so bleh here with the rain, and fog that I wanted something bright to cheer everyone up!

I used 2 stamp sets for this card. I used Petal Pizzazz item#113417 and Thank You Kindly item#111700. My base for the card is Real Red, then a piece of More Mustard. Next I cut a strip of our Old Olive Patterns Designer Series Paper, and a piece of Flocked Together DSP. On the Flocked Together Paper I stamped the thank you in Real Red ink, I used the Scallop Trim Border punch on the bottom. I then taped the 2 piece of DSP together and wrapped some of our 3/4 Polka-dot Real Red grosgrain ribbon around to hide the seems.

I cut out the flowers from the Petal Pizzazz set. I stamped them in More Mustard, Tempting Turquoise, and Old Olive.
I placed Stampin' Dimensionals behind each layer to make the flower pop more. To finish off the flower I added one of our Designer Buttons called Playground. Then to complete the card I added two silver brads on the left side at the top.

Monday's 3D Challenge using Great Friend, Inspired By Nature and En Francis

Morning and welcome to Monday's 3D Challenge!!!

First I want to say thank you to everyone that sent emails about my mom. She is doing a little better we got her home on Sat. She had 2 screws put in one fracture, the other fracture went back in to place so she didn't need anything done to that one. This week they hope to put it in a cast once the swelling goes down. I will worn you all I will try to keep posting as much as I can to my blog, but life is going to be a little more crazy for me for awhile. I also got selected for jury duty..perfect timing ehh.

This is the 3D challenge I posted over on Stampin' Addicts website today! Check out there site if you haven't been there, it is an awesome site for Stampin' Up!. Demos be sure to sign up for the demo forum.

Today's challenge is to decorate the cover of a mini notebook! Simple and easy challenge but I think these make wonderful gifts for family, friends, coworkers and etc.

Directions~

1. Grab a mini notebook. Mine measure 4" x 5 1/2". You will need to measure yours to adjust the measurements for it.

2. Cut 2 pieces of card stock 3 1/2" x 5 1/2". One is for the front the other is for the back. Decorate how you would like and then attach to the cover. I used Kraft card stock. I took the En Francis background stamp, inked it in Versa Mark and stamped directly onto the craft. Then I took the butterfly from Great Friend inked it in Taken With Teal and stamped directly onto the Kraft card stock. I then stamped the butterfly twice on two sticky notes and cut it out. I then placed the sticky note over the stamped butterflies. (This is called masking) Then took the grass from Inspired by Nature inked it in Really Rust and stamped over everything.

3. Cut 1 piece of DSP 2 1/2" x 5 1/2", wrap around from front to back for your book bind. I used Old Olive Patterns Designer Series Paper.

4. Wrap your ribbon around to hide your seam. I used 5/8 Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon. To finish it off I added a fold of ribbon, then added a Kraft Corduroy Button and a piece of Natural Hemp that I tied into a bow. I then stamped two more butterflies onto Kraft card stock and cut them out. I added Stampin' Dimensionals to the back.

Tutorial on a simple ribbon bow

Morning and welcome to my blog!

I must say I am glad today is Friday! Yesterday I had some bad excitement. My mom fell and fractured her ankle in two spots, so I spent a majority of yesterday afternoon and last evening in the ER. They splinted it and I finally got to take her home, today she will have to see a bone specialist and have a pin or plate put in it. I know ouch! My toes curled in my shoes when the doc. told us that. My poor mom.

Here is the tutorial on the bow I did for the card I posted yesterday.

You will need the following~ Ribbon, Glue dots, Card stock, and Paper Snips as shown in the picture below.

DSC02642

Cut a piece of ribbon and secure each end with a glue dot on the back side of your card stock.

DSC02646

Make a bow and then flip over and place a glue dot on the back.

DSC02653

Place your bow anywhere on the ribbon that you attached to the card stock. You should have what it looks like below.

DSC02647

See how simple and easy that is!! Glue dots are my best friend!!

Thanks for stopping in and have a great day!

Thank you card using With All My Heart

Morning everyone! Welcome to my blog.

I liked the color combo so much on my Monday's D Challenge that I had to make a card using the same colors. It is just such a warm color combo and I am tired of the cold here! lol One can dream about summer right?

I used the Stamp Set called With All My Heart item #118623 (clear mount #) from the Occasions Mini! I love the clear mount sets!! They are so wonderful, the rubber is deeply etched and on some really good cushion. Storage for them is awesome I really think Stampin' Up! rocked this!

The color combo I used for this card is Ruby Red, Mellow Moss, Dusty Durango, So Saffron Whisper White, and Sweet Pea DSP that had the So Saffron color print on it. Really like this color combo a lot!

The base is Ruby Red, then Mellow Moss. Next is Dusty Durango, you'll notice I paper pierced around part of it on the edges. At the bottom of it I stamped the Thank you in Ruby Red. I added a piece of our Sweet Pea DSP, which I used the Scallop Trim Border Punch on the bottom of it. I then wrapped 1/4 Sage ribbon around and added my bow. (Stop back tomorrow I will show and easy way to do this) To the right I added a strip of Ruby Red card stock. I used the Paper Pierce on the top and bottom. Then I created my flower. I punched a piece of Sage Shadow out with the Extra Large Fancy Flower Punch, I stamped my image in  So Saffron on Whisper White card stock and then punched that out with the Extra Large Fancy Flower Punch. For the center I took the 1 3/8" circle punch, punched out a piece in Ruby Red. I stamped my image in Dusty Durango Ink and punched that out with the 1 1/4" Circle Punch. I added a vintage brad for the center and then put Stampin' Dimensionals on the back. To finish off my card I added vintage brads in the upper left hand corner, you'll also notice I sponged all the edges with Dusty Durango ink.
