Monday's 3D Challenge using Cheep Talk

Morning and welcome to my blog!

I hope you all enjoyed the blog hop over the last few days! Couple of things the winner of my blog candy is Jean Fitch!! Congrates on winning the blog candy! I want to thank everyone for your kind comments too! The second thing be sure to check back tomorrow I will show close up pictures of the baby book and share details with ya!

Today I am sharing the 3D challenge that I posted over on Stampin' Addicts site! If you have never been there be sure to check it out! It is a positive site geared towards Stampin' Up! Products only! If your a demo be sure to sign up for the demo only forums! So for the challenge I created a Mini Note Board!

Directions~

1. Grab a rectangle Chipboard Coaster (if you don't have one some card board would work) and measure it. Once you have your measurements then you'll know what size your paper will need to be. I cut a piece of Good Neighbor DSP 4" x 5 1/2" and used the Cheep Talk Stamp Set to decorate it. I stamped the flowers in Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo. I then taped it down to the coaster and sponged pumpkin pie ink around the edges.

2. Cut 2 pieces of Cork 2 3/4" x 3 1/2" sticky strip them together. Then sticky strip it to the coaster. I stamped the Bird in Bermuda Bay on Whisper White card stock, cut it out and popped it up on a dimensional.

3. Finish decorating how you would like. I used my Big Shot and the SU Birds and Blooms Sizzlit Die and die cut flowers out in Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, and Pumpkin Pie in the center I added a Clear Rhinestone Brad. I sponged the edges of the flower too with the coordinating ink. Then popped it up on a dimensional. To finish it off I used 1/2 polka-dot Melon Mambo grosgrain ribbon.

If you would like to purchase the supplies used to make this project, or place an order click Here, email or call me too!!! When on my Stampin' Up! Website just click on the Shop Now button!

I colored the images in with Markers and then stamped on a piece of Whisper White card stock. I then layered on Crushed Curry and Always Artichoke. Upcoming Blog Hop using Forest Friends

Morning and welcome to my blog!

I am finally starting to feel a lot better! I just wasn't up to posting and creating this week. That is when you really know I am sick! Anyhow this weekend Stampin' Addicts is doing a blog hop for Sale-A-Bration and I am tacking part in it! It starts Sat. the 16th and goes through Monday the 18th. This year Stampin' UP! is giving its customers a choice of picking out certain sets from the main catalog!! How awesome is that!!! I was quite excited about it!!! The set I will be featuring over the weekend is Forest Friends!! This is one of the sets that you can pick out for free!!

I must admit when I first saw this set I wanted for 2 reasons. One it remind me of Bambi and brought back memories of when my parents took my brother and I to see the movie in the theater. The other reason well in my family we are a lot of practical jokers and deer hunting is a big thing. Well when I saw the Bambi I had to have it for a special project for my brother. When we hunt it is a huge no, no to shoot Bambi's we get in trouble for wasting a tag over it. Plus it's kinda not nice to shoot those cute little deers. Well my husband's first year hunting he accidentally shot a Bambi he had never hunted before and didn't realize there is a difference. Of course my family being the smart ones teased, and teased him bad. Well my brother was the worst out of all of them. The following season he accidentally hit the Bambi when hunting so the good sister that I am I had to get this set for his scrapbook page. We soo can't let him slide by on that one! lol

Any how onto my project for today! I used Forest Friends. I just love the bunny!!! So I made a little 3x3 card for a baby shower. My base is Basic Gray, then So Saffron, next Bashful Blue. I cut a piece of Flock Together DSP, on the bottom I used the Scallop Trim Border Punch (this is a must punch!!!) I used Teeny Tiny Wishes and stamped hello baby in Basic Grey on the bottom. Tip~ Use your stamp-a-ma-jig to get the word lined up straight! I took some Bashful Blue 1/4 grosgrain and wrapped it around the layers. I stamped the bunny on Whisper White card stock in Basic Gray Ink and punched it out with the 1 1/4 circle Punch, punched a piece of So Saffron with the 1 3/8 circle punch, and punched a piece of Basic Gray with the Scallop Circle Punch. I took the 1/16th punch and punched holes in each scallop. Then added dimensionals to the back to pop it up. I stamped on the envelope and added some ribbon to jazz it up.

If you would like to purchase the supplies I used to make this project or place an order HERE, email or call me too!! Just click on the Shop Now button when on my Stampin' Up! Website!

Today I am doing a tutorial on how I colored my daffodils on my projects for the blog hop!
A couple of tips to get you started first. Always choose colors that are complimentary, you'll want a light color and a darker color in the same hue. For example I did So Saffron and Summer Sun. When coloring with the darker color you want to fill in the way the light would be hitting it to cast a shadow.

DSC01951

1. Stamp your image in Black Stazon ink on Whisper White card stock.

DSC01954

2. Using your blender pen, run it on your ink pad to pick up the color. You'll want to start with the lightest color first. My first color was So Saffron. Then I used Summer Sun for accent on the flower. These are the spots I think that would be a shadow area.

DSC01960

3. Next was coloring in the leaf part. You'll repeat step 2 only instead start out with Old Olive. Color all of the leaf part. Then next I used Always Artichoke, for the high light part. You'll notice at the base I colored in the hole thing with Always Artichoke. It would be darker here as the light wouldn't be hitting it.

DSC01965

4. Last step I did was added some Crystal Effects to the flower. I put it on using a brush and applied it in the center over the summer sun to highlight this area more. Its hard to see but if you click any of the pictures you'll see more detail.

That is how I colored in my flowers on my projects! Leave a comment and tell me what you think! If you have any questions please post or email me and I would be happy to help!

If you would like to purchase the supplies I used to make this project or place an order you can place an order HERE, email or call me to!!

Hope you enjoyed today's Tutorial! Have a great day!
