I am in the process of several major events here that I am making decorations for, lots of regular work, work and work, tax time, plus lots of different things going on. There is not enough hours in the day! We did have my mom's retirement party it was a success and I will be sharing photos in a couple of weeks here. I am sorry I worried some of you but we are okay and I will not be posting regular till I get stuff done and caught up.

Family Jar

This is another gift we created for our family members and is part of the "Year Gift" we made! If you would like to see more info about this awesome project we created and what I've shared so far click on the little tag on the left side of my blog labeled Year of Gifts or visit HERE. It is a family jar. I saw this idea last year on pinterest and thought how cool I gotta make this! The idea is all year long record the awesome things that happened and then on new year's eve read through everything. How cool right? Another demo/friend did this with her family and it's become a family tradition for them. This uses the Layering Love Stamp Set (W) item #141962 (C) item #141965 which I thought was fitting for this idea!

Theses were such a blast to make! We made a total of 4 of them. I should have made one for us but didn't even think about it. lol Super easy to create too!

Supplies Needed to create Family Jar
Stamp: Layering Love
Ink: Early Espresso
Paper: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Copy Paper
Acc.: 1 3/8 Circle Punch, Very Vanilla 1/2 Lace Trim, Gold Binder Clips, Pearls, Jar, Paint, Silhouette

Rubber Redneck Quick Shots:

  • Paint the jar lid in your color choice and let dry for several days.
  • Using the Silhouette cut out the vinyl in black and attach to the front of the jar. Sorry I forgot to measure the jar. lol I got them at Target in the $1 spot last spring.
  • Create a pouch to hold slips of copy paper out of the Early Espresso card stock. They don't need to be that big but I really wanted the saying on the pocket. Punch one end of the Early Espresso card stock using the 1 3/8 Circle Punch. This will make it easier to grab the slips of paper.
  • Ink the stamp from Layering Love Stamp Set in Early Espresso and stamp onto the Very Vanilla card stock. Glue to the front of the pocket and added some Pearl Basic Jewels to finish it.
  • At the top I clipped a Gold Binder Clip to the pocket then thread some Very Vanilla 1/2 Lace Trim through the binder clip and tied it around the top of the jar.
  • Then I typed up a note to add with the jar to let each family know how the jar works.

Here is all four of them. Again I either did people's favorite colors or the color that would best in there home since I didn't know who would actually leave them sitting out. Pretty awesome I think!

2016 Goals; You're So Lovely

2016 the New Year is most defiantly here :) Time for new goals, try new things, organize, get healthy and so much more!!! One thing for 2016 that we've been remind of right off the bat is things defiantly don't go as planned. lol I had this BIG idea of what I was going to do for New Year's Day; umm guess what life happened and really made me think. So for the hole month of January I am focusing on the New Year instead of just New Year's Day. You can set goals, make plans and etc. really any time of the year; you don't need to stick to some time table on a calendar. Here is a fun way I put my goals/new year's resolutions down on paper. Right now I am going to leave it out in front of my work area so I see it; but I made it on a Project Life Card so I can slide it into my album.

Every year I get asked the same two questions:

1. How do I  achieve my new year's resolutions or goals?

2. Don't you feel let down or really bad when you don't accomplish something?

1. When you make your goals set the bar high but not out of reach. Be real, Be Honest.

My first goal for 2016 was to try 1 new thing this year and I did. When I thought about it at the time I didn't really know what I wanted to do, I just knew it had to be 1 new thing to me and me alone. I tried using pink on something just for me. I HATE pink and I mean I HATE it. If I had my way the color would be banned for life!! lol So I wrote out my goals in Watermelon Wonder; yep still hate it but I did it and I was proud of myself!! That's how easy it can be.

2. Make time to work on your goals. This can be 5-10 min or more a day, week or month depending on what your goals are.

You Can:
Let's be honest and realistic you're not going to accomplish every thing on that list. They are just simply something you want to improve on. It's not life or death and the world will not end. If you start off right away thinking your gonna fail and have that attitude then you will fail and feel bad.

Did I accomplish all my goals I set last year? Heck NO and I am ok with that. One example, was trying out Project Life but doing it on a daily journal instead of weekly. WOW that was a lot to bite into and honestly what was I thinking peeps?? lol I was able to document everyday but was not able to create spreads for each day yet. But I did accomplish documenting each day. So even though I didn't achieve the ultimate goal I was able to achieve a related goal. (Next Friday I will be sharing more about my Project Life 2016 plans.)

I challenge you all to set goals/ new year's resolutions if you have not yet. Here is to an awesome 2016 for everyone and I can't wait to hear about your goals!

The Stamp Review Crew; Perfect Pennants

Welcome to another The Stamp Review Crew Hop!! We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who will be bringing you lots of ideas for one particular stamp set twice a month!!  The 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, you can hop along from one blog to the next gathering all kinds of inspiration for one Stampin' Up! stamp set. Please note the blog doesn't officially start until Monday January 5th so some of the links may not work.

I so excited for the fun to start!! We have a great group of talented stampers for this hop!!  If you are following the hop in order you just arrived from Shana's blog Stress Free Stamping With Shana where she made a beautiful project!!! We are featuring the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set from the Main Catalog.

This set is so versatile it's crazy! It will work for so many occasions. Here is just a few off the top of my head; New Year's, Valentine, Birthday, Thinking of You, and etc. 2014 was quite the year for us and so many of our friends so I thought everyone could use something fun, cheerful and useful wink, wink, wink. I love the saying in this set!

I created a calender for 2015. I made 40 some of these babies! That was one of my new year's goal to create more gifts for friends and family. The picture doesn't show all the stamping I did using the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set. I found a calender on-line that my husband altered for me so I could die cut out each month using the Big Shot and Square Framelits. I used the lovely Park Lane Designer Series Paper which is my favorite out of the catalog!! I used all the colors that were in the pack of dsp to create this. My husband did help me and I must confess to you he just about dis- owned me :) but we did have fun and got to spend a lot of quality time together!

I hope you liked my calender!! I had a lot of fun creating it! I will be sharing the details on this project on Wed. so be sure to stop back. Now you'll want to head on over to Wendy's Blog Wickedly Wonderful Creations and see her fabulous creation!

Thanks for stopping by and hopping with us!
