Scrabook Saddle Up Friday; 12 x12 Page using Always Thankful Part 2

Happy Friday!!

Every Friday I will be hosting the Scrapbook Saddle Up with y'all!! It will feature a scrapbook layout to a scrapbooking album ideas along with tips, techniques and etc!! Here is the second part to the 12 x 12 Page I showed you all last week. To see part 1 please visit HERE. This uses the Always Thankful Set out of the Holiday Mini. I love this set!!!  I used the following supplies to create this page~

Always Thankful Clear Stamp Set item #123789
Wonderfully Worn Background Stamp item #118533
Big Shot item #113439
Tasteful Trim Die item #120893
Timeless Type Junior Alphabet item #115951

Little Leaves Sizzlit item #114511
Well Worn DSP item #122359
Designer Buttons Neutrals item #119743

For the second part of this I will be covering all the little extra embellishments I added to the page layout.

For the title of my page I decided to just use my dog's name; so I used the Big Shot and the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet and die cut out Gizmo in Cajun Craze card stock.

Tip~ I used Cajun Craze card stock for the title to tie in the Cajun Craze card stock that I used at the bottom of the page. You'll notice how it balances out the overall project when completed.

I placed Neutrals Brads in the upper right hand corner and down across the bottom of the Naturals Ivory card stock.

Tip~ By placing the brads on the page like I did it helped balance out the page before any other embellishments were added.

I then took the stamp from Always Thankful Stamp Set; inked in Early Espresso and stamped onto a piece of Lucky Limeade card stock then punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch. I slid the punched piece under the photo on the right side.

Tip~ When using the Decorative Label Punch for an embellishment I don't punch out the hole piece to save on card stock. This works if your covering part of it up somewhere on your project.

I die cut out 3 leaves using the Big Shot and the Little Leaves Sizzlit in the following colors; Cajun Craze, More Mustard, and Naturals Ivory card stock. I  sponged the edges of the leaves with Early Espresso ink. Again I rotated the colors to balance it out and make the colors flow good together. The possibilities are endless for making your own embellishments when using the Big Shot and dies!!

Tip~ Sponge the edges of any paper embellishment with a darker ink to help make it stand out on your page.

I then added a Neutrals Designer Button over the stems to hide them. I then added a bow made from Natural Hemp Twine. Then last I added the the date of the picture to the More Mustard card stock with the Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker.

Supplies Used~
Stamp~ Always Thankful, Wonderful Worn
Ink~ More Mustard, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Lucky Limeade
Paper~ Early Espresso, Lucky Limeade, Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Naturals Ivory, Well Worn DSP
Acc.~ Big Shot, Perfect Details Texturz Plate,Tasteful Trim Die, Timeless Type Junior Alphabet, Little Leaves Sizzlits, Decorative Label Punch, Designer Buttons Neutrals, Neutrals Brads, Natural Hemp Twine, Sponge Daubers, Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker, Glue Dots

I hope you all enjoyed seeing this project as much as I loved making it!! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

1. Cut 1 piece of Lucky Limeade card stock 7 1/4" x 11" . Score it at 2 1/4", 4 1/2", 6 3/4", 9"; turn it vertical and score 2 1/4" in on one side only. Cut 1 square out on the end then cut on scored lines to the 2 1/4" line. I took the Wonderfully Worn Background Stamp; inked in Lucky Limeade and stamped onto the Lucky Limeade card stock. I repeated this until the hole piece was covered. I then took the Decorative Label Punch and punched at the top of one section. I applied Sticky Strip to the card stock and folded together.

3. Cut 1 piece of Cajun Craze card stock 1 1/4" x 3 1/2". I cut a triangle in one end then ran it through the Big Shot with the Houndstooth Embossing Folder. I then sponged the edges with Cajun Craze ink. I snailed it to the Early Espresso card stock.

If you visit my blog often you know about my dog Gizmo but for those that maybe new to my site this is my special pup. I got him 5 years ago this weekend as a wedding gift from my husband. We rescued him from a pound. I grew up on a farm were dogs were more for working than pets, they were not allowed to be in the house with us at all. lol Mom if your reading this don't be too upset with us... (My brother and I used to sneak them inside though when mom and dad were gone). lol  He is quite the dog he loves my parents farm and loves to dig holes in Mom's flower beds. Mom doesn't care for that little trick. lol My dad has a soft spot for him it's quite funny since he was always there not pets yada, yada. He spoils him all the time. This dog is so funny and smart at times you wonder if he is part human.. he loves cantaloupe. My funniest story I was picking Raspberries one day and he was with following me around. After a little bit he wasn't right by me so I turn around to see where he was and the stinker is back at the beginning of the row eating the raspberries off the plant!!! lol

When creating this page I wanted to show that you can use the Always Thankful Stamp Set another way other than just for Thanksgiving.

Tip~ I like to purchase stamps that can be used for more than just one occasion or season.

My base is Early Espresso card stock. I then cut a piece of Lucky Limeade card stock. I took the stamp from Always Thankful Stamp Set; inked in Early Espresso and stamped onto the Lucky Limeade card stock. I repeated this until I had the edges stamped on. I sponged the edges with Lucky Limeade. I cut a piece of More Mustard card stock. I took the Wonderfully Worn Background Stamp; inked in More Mustard and stamped onto the More Mustard card stock. I repeated this until the hole piece was covered. I then sponged the edges with More Mustard ink.

Tip~ Sponge the edges of the card stock to give it more depth and to blend in your stamping when creating your own background paper.

I cut a piece of Well Worn DSP and snailed it across the bottom. Using the Big Shot and the Tasteful Trim Die I cut out a piece of Cajun Craze card stock. YOU NEED THIS DIE!!! Yes I am shouting my friends were right it ROCKS!! I cut a piece of Naturals Ivory card stock ran it through the Big Shot with the Perfect Details Texture Plate. I sponged the edges with Cajun Craze ink. I cut a piece of Early Espresso card stock to mount the photo on.  I then snailed it to the center of the page.

Tip~ Once you pick out a color scheme keep rotating the colors to make your project flattering and to flow nice once it's done.
