Little notebook using Three Little Words
Morning everyone!
Sorry I didn't post yesterday! I ran out of time!! Yesterday my dad retired from his job. My dad had to retire due to his health. My dad was diagnosed with COPD. About 3 years ago my dad became very sick and we went a year before they finally figured out what was wrong with him. This last year it has really progressed and he is now unable to work. I am pretty busy helping at the farm and right now is calving time. Life has changed a lot for our family in the last 3 years, yesterday it was a little weird seeing my dad retire. His work threw a nice party for him!! We had lots of fun and the food was great!!
Today's share is a little notebook I made using Three Little Words and the Paisley Prints DSP!! This DSP is a sneak peak item that will be in the next catalog!!!! You can purchase this paper before it comes out in the new catalog in July!!! You must place a minimum of $20 order before you can purchase this paper. Visit HERE for the details!! I took a little notebook, unwound everything, measured the cover and cut a piece of Sahara Sand card stock. I took the stamp from Three Little Words Stamp Set; inked in Sahara Sand and stamped around the edges of the card stock. I round the two bottom corners with the 3/16 Corner Small Punch. I cut a piece of Always Artichoke card stock and snailed it the left side. To create the holes at the top I placed the Sahara Sand card stock over the top of the cover and using a 1/4 size hand punch; punched the holes through the Sahara Sand card stock. I then worked the wire back through putting the little notebook back together.
I cut a piece of Marina Mist card stock, then ran it through the Big Shot with the Top Note Die. I cut the Top Note in half, then ran it through the Big Shot again this time using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. I snailed it the the left side of the cover. I cut a piece of Paisley Prints DSP. I cut a piece of Always Artichoke and Whisper White card stock. I took the stamp from Three Little Words Stamp Set; inked in Marina Mist and stamped onto the Whisper White card stock. I snailed all three pieces together, then at the bottom I wrapped a piece of 3/8 Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon around the bottom. I placed Stampin' Dimensionals on the back and attached it to the front of the notebook. To finish it off I added a Mini Library Clip and Jewels Basic Pearls to it. I just love how this turned out!!

Holly, Very nice project -it would make a nice gift to give someone too!
Your Dad's retirement is rather bittersweet huh? You may be able to spend more time with him but yet it sounds like he had to retire before he was mentally ready to retire. Hopefully not have the demands of a full time job will allow his strength to continue.
Prayers for your family!

Fantastic notebook, but that must have taken forever, unwinding and rewinding onto the spiral :)

How pretty! Love all the great details. I have to admire your patience with the unwinding and winding of the spiral. Not sure I'd be so patient...
Best wishes to your Dad on his retirement. Lots of love and support will help him to find his way in this new phase of his life. He just needs time to figure it all out.
